The City of Folly Beach has scheduled beach renourishment for this spring. The project will start at the West end of the island at the county park progressing towards the pier in blocks. The completion is slated for August. While this is welcomed news given the recent erosion from storms and high tides, we realize the potential for disruption based on the project’s timing. We are committed to ensuring your vacation experience remains enjoyable. While most of the beach will remain publicly accessible during the construction, there is a possibility that certain sections of the beach, typically about 500 feet at a time, may be temporarily closed off. The active work area moves every 5 to 7 days on average. Due to so many external factors, we have no way to predict an accurate timeline for when the project will be at any given location. However, if we anticipate in advance that the project may affect your stay, we will be reaching out to you. On the first floor, sit five of the six bedrooms in the home, two of which have ocean views and access to the expansive balcony. The bright, beachy colored bedrooms each present a personal flat screen TV and cozy comforters. The balcony spans from one end of the home to the other hosting a table and chairs as well as a cushioned couch and lounger. To the left side of the porch, a spiral staircase leads to the private master suite. The spacious top floor suite contains a small living area as well as a king size bed facing the ocean. The large flat screen TV and kitchenette only add to the privacy and luxuriousness of this master bedroom. Should you feel inclined to hit the beach or the waves, a set of stairs leads from the carport to the ocean. To the right a small grassy area leads you to a private entrance to a large screened in room holding a ping pong table and swinging bench if you feel the need to escape the sun. Located in the carport is your own private outdoor shower to wash away the sand and salt. And no need for the front door, just follow the spiral staircase to the first floor balcony. In the winter months, snuggle up in front of the fireplace and listen to the waves as they lull you into relaxation mode. In the spring and summer hit the waves during the day and let them sing you to sleep at night.
