Enjoyed the location, but were otherwise disappointed

  • 1 of 5

My wife and I rented this unit from 2/18/18 thru 3/6/18. While in Arizona we spent most of our time hiking the trails in the Superstition Mountains, but also spent a significant amount of time looking at many other rental properties for future visits to the area. We enjoyed the location of this rental property, but were otherwise disappointed with the rental. As compared to many of the other rental properties we looked at, this one was way too expensive for what you get. It needs a lot of attention to bring it up to the standards of the other rental properties in the area. On 2/28/18 we sent an email to the owners listing 23 suggestions for improving their rental property, but we did not receive a reply and no actions were taken to act on any of our suggestions. Here is a shortened list of the suggestions we provided: moving the horse trailer away from just outside the kitchen window; replacing cheap, worn out, taped together folding lawn chairs with actual patio furniture on all decks/patios; fix lights and ceiling fans; fixing windows, doors, and curtains; providing adequate kitchen items; fixing clothes washer and proving some laundry detergent; providing a dishwasher that gets the dishes clean; and fixing/replacing the noisiest furnace we have heard at any of the places we have stayed. During our 60 plus years we have rented many places to stay. We have rented several VRBOs and also many cabins, condos, and motel/hotel rooms so we think we have a good idea what people expect when they rent a place to stay. We hope the owners take our comments seriously and give this rental unit the maintenance that it needs. Cynthia and Tom

Loved our stay at the Casita!

  • 5 of 5

This was our third stay at the Casita, as always completely enjoyed staying there. You can't ask for better scenery or peace and quiet. We also liked the new upgrades. Very glad the owners leave us bring our two dogs. Also like to visit their horses. Hope to be back next year.

Very cozy place

  • 4 of 5

We loved our stay at Western Casita.

It was very comfortable and roomy and the kitchen was well supplied.

The close proximity to the surrounding mountains is a plus for hikers. We hope to be back next year.

Clean, quiet, peaceful, perfect

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the Casita! It was a perfect location for us - right next to the Superstitions. We did a few day hikes, then came back to the Casita to cook dinner every evening in the fully equipped kitchen. The area was a very quiet neighborhood, with some wildlife right outside our door for viewing while we ate breakfast each morning. Kathy and Kerry were wonderful hosts - very helpful and accommodating. They were just a driveway away if we needed anything. We hope to come back someday!
