About Jenn Smith

My husband and I moved to Chattanooga in 2003 after graduating from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. In 2005, we purchased this home as a labor of love. Over the past several years we've renovated this home from an empty shell to the jewel it is today. We loved the character of the home, originally built in the 1920s. So we stayed true to the homes historic features while adding modern conveniences. Since beginning the home's renovation, we got engaged on the front porch in 2006, we got married at the Hunter Museum in 2008, we started our own architectural business (located on Frazier Avenue) in 2009 and had our son in 2011 & another son on the way, due in 2014.

Why Jenn Smith chose North Chattanooga

This home is very near and dear to our hearts. We chose to buy this home because we love the area. The neighborhood is so alive with people walking their dogs, riding their bikes & sitting on their porches... everyone is always outside enjoying life and the company of others. The proximity to all Chattanooga has to offer is so convenient, whether walking or driving, it takes no more than a few minutes to get anywhere. This property is conveniently located to the interstate and a 10-minute drive to the airport.

What makes this house unique

What we love most about this home is the front porch. It's privately located in the tree tops away from cars and pedestrians on the street. From here, you can enjoy the birds and the squirrels & the view of Downtown. During baseball season, you can even watch the fireworks display from the privacy of this beautiful home's front porch!

Beautiful home! Relaxing weekend!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed two nights during the Chattanooga 70.3 Ironman I was participating in recently. We wanted a place close enough to Ross’s Landing and places to eat so that we could walk everywhere. Jenn’s House was perfect! I loved the design of the house and furnishings. We invited relatives over for dinner and everyone wanted to order delivery and eat at the house so that we could just enjoy the place. So peaceful after a tough race!

Just right for our purposes -- family gathering for Granddaughter wedding.

Very nice. Plenty of room for 4 adults and 4 kids. Just around corner from Aretha Frankensteins. Walking distance to North Shore, Clumpies Ice Cream Store, and the walking bridge. Entry requires serious climb of steps/stairs. We are 78/79 but not yet frail, so in our case, no problem. For the Grandchildren 8-16 it was a cool adventure.

Great location, family vacation

  • 5 of 5

Stayed with my husband and 2.5yr old and another family with a toddler. Enjoyed the layout of the house and The Toy Closet. Location was close to food and fun. Never found remotes for TV or sound, but it all worked out to watch a movie. PSA: If you're going to eat at Aretha Frankensteins (accross the residential street), go put your name on the list in advance.

Great home, great location

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here with family, plus cousin's family. A wonderful time in a wonderful location.

The house is well cared for, perhaps more so than any vacation rental I've had before. Also very kid friendly*: high chair, lots of toys on hand. Nice, roomy porches so the grown-ups can share some wine in the evening or coffee in the morning.

The location is great, too. We've been to Chattanooga many times, but this is the first we've been on North Shore. It was just as convenient as staying in the city, but was quiet and relaxing. There are shops and restaurants very close by (walkable if you can handle the hills), and you can get into the city itself in just a few minutes by car (or, again, even use the walking bridge if you're up for it). If you want to get to Lookout Mountain attractions, the parkway zips you around the city, so it's really only a couple extra minutes from this location, as compared to one in the city.

We would very much stay here again.

*Only caveat: The stairs to get in the place are no joke. We can handle them, and our kids are old enough that they can do it with someone holding their hand, but if stairs are a difficulty/danger, think twice.

Beautiful, spacious home. Great location.

Our family of 7 had plenty of room here. We walked across the bridge to downtown each day and found lots of fun activities to do. We had a blast!

Location

Car: not necessary

Enjoy a short walk across the Tennessee River to visit many more area attractions, such as the Tennessee Aquarium, IMAX Theater & Children's Creative Discovery Museum. Chattanooga is one of the most affordable vacation destinations in the country—so you can do it all. Whether you want to take in a play or concert, visit an amazing museum, be a part of the nightlife, enjoy the outdoors or experience a piece of history, it’s all here. Try taking a cruise on the river or check out the city on a guided tour (choose from duck tours, double decker bus or even ghost tours!). Then relax and enjoy a wine or whiskey tasting. Plan your trip today, and come make memories in Chattanooga that’ll last a lifetime.
