Nice view. Great location. Comfortable. Only thing missing is a blender/vitamix for the kitchen. I would recommend staying here and come back again

It was okay

  • 3 of 5

We are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids. The place was convenient since we were visiting family in the area. The price was good considering the comparative prices of other places. The hostess was very polite. Her husband was kind. The view was great, despite the cool March days. We liked that it was comfortable and large enough for us. But we also felt there could be several improvements.

Pros:

-Tidy, and considerably clean

-wifi available, strong

-comfortable beds and showers

-hot water was always available, considering we’re 4 people

-great view of the water; open patio and yard

-convenient for getting groceries and other necessities

-functioning kitchen appliances (stove and microwave) and good-sized fridge

-perfect parking spot

Cons:

-smelled musty because of old upholstery, curtains, tableware, and carpets

-towels looked old and worn

-toilet didn’t flush every time because the tank wouldn’t fill fast enough. So we had to fill it up manually using a pot from the kitchen.

-kitchenware: pans, pots, were very worn and cutlery (which looked like old silverware) was tarnished and stained. We ended up buying our own utensils and cooking ware at Dollarama

-coffee pot looked old and was stained and toaster was difficult to use

-opening the front door was always tricky and difficult to turn the lock. We were swearing every time we wanted to get in.

-the couches were not comfortable at all. The leather was cracked and peeling.

-bedroom door wouldn’t close completely.

-since we stayed 5 days/nights, we had no idea what to do with the garbage and compost once they were full.

-the freezer had a bad odour and probably could use some Arm & Hammer baking soda

-no paper towels (thankfully after reading other reviews, I had brought some of our own)

So, if you’re planning to stay here, it’s good- for the price AND if you plan to be out and about. If you’re staying in, and for more than a couple of nights, you may want to consider bringing some cutlery and kitchenware of your own. Plus bathroom towels. And tissues (Kleenex) since we had to get some at the local grocery store.

Quaint and Peaceful

  • 4 of 5

Overall the place is beautiful. The view from the master bedroom was awesome and it was just as pretty from the kitchen. Unfortunately my trip got cut short, but the owner was super sweet about the change in plans. The only complaint I have is that it is not stocked well for cooking. We made due with what we had, but it lacked some basics. Also the dishwasher nor the microwave was working properly. Overall a great experience, if I were to come back to Toronto I would stay there again!

Convenient apartment in lovely location

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here for three nights in October 2017 and had a great holiday. It was super convenient for parking our rental car while we hopped on a bus into the city on a couple of days. Seriously, you don't want to drive into the city as the traffic is heavy and the parking is very expensive. We also drove over to Niagara Falls which only took about 90 minutes. The apartment had everything we needed for our short stay and was very clean. The view from the end of the garden which is seen from the lounge, kitchen and main bedroom was fabulous. On a clear day you can just see the tower at Niagara Falls across the lake. If I was being really picky I would say the apartment was furnished in a rather old fashioned way, so if that kind of thing was a priority for you then you might not be happy. It was perfectly fine for us. We did however, notice noise from the upstairs neighbours as the insulation between apartments is not brilliant.

Fabulous getaway retreat

  • 5 of 5

We pulled in for a three night vacation after a conference in the Niagara area. Best for us was a rental car at the airport followed by about a twenty minute drive using a GPS to get us to the rental. There is public transit, but you'll have about a 1000m walk to Lake Promenade from your stop. Les and his lovely wife had the unit well-appointed and immaculately cleaned. Beautiful views of Lake Ontario out the dining area, kitchen, and master BR, with a nice deck that gets good sun in the morning and early afternoon. Quiet and relaxing. Easy walk just to the east to a wonderful park with lots of birdwatching, lake views, and trails. Try the nearby No Frills grocery store on 37th and Lake Shore Drive, right next to a wine/beer/spirits store for adult beverages. We did not find much dining in the area, but the kitchen gave us good meals, and downtown Toronto, about a half-hour drive away, has tons of dining opportunities in the entertainment district. During the day, park downtown at one of the many lots at or near the Radisson (about $20 Canadian for the day) and try the Hop on Hop Off bus tour for all the best sights in Toronto - includes a boat tour of the islands out of downtown. Get advance tickets online and simply present voucher at the bus stop near the Radisson for your receipt, which is good for 48 hours. Don't miss the Distillery District with its great restaurants, shops, and artisan galleries. Get back to the rental for a bottle of wine and late afternoon sun down at the beach. Pretty nice vacation in Canada, eh?
