Logan Street Urban Refuge - Private Carriage House

Enjoy the comfort of our fully-equipped carriage house (2nd story) private apartment with separate entrance in historic Speer neighborhood. Excellent walk-ability (5 minutes) to local bars, coffee shops, restaurants and public transportation. Free street parking. 1.5 miles from State Capitol , Denver Convention Center, Pepsi Center, Denver Art Museum and the Denver Performing Arts Center.

In the spirit of keeping travel affordable we have not raised our prices in over two years - even though our operating costs have increased. We’ll never ask you to strip beds, do the laundry, or take out the trash. We pay a generous living wage to our housekeeper and professionally clean the laundry. We only ask for the place to respectfully put the place back in order like you found it.

Twenty minute drive from world famous Red Rocks Amphitheater!

Located in the heart of Denver, with accessibility to nearly everything. Bike/walk on the Cherry Creek path, just a couple blocks up the street. It's surrounded by so much activity but offers a quiet respite from the outside world. You'll love the clean, warm, contemporary style on the inside with blackout shades in the bedroom. A full kitchen with spices and basics, if you choose to cook. But why would you want to cook when you have sports bars, fine restaurants, Sushi bars, breakfast cafes within a couple minutes walk??? We'll supply you with coffee, tea and a few other niceties.!

If you are flying into Denver, it's an easy light rail ride to Denver's Union Station. You could take a short bus ride from Union Station down to our stop (Broadway and 1st Ave) and have a 5 minute walk to the Logan Street Urban Refuge. Depending on what you plan to do in Denver, it's highly possible you wouldn't need a car. Your hosts are respectful of your privacy but are available to help you navigate the city/state if you have questions, or to talk and enjoy meeting new people. Perfect stay for Rockies baseball.
This nice little getaway was very nice and clean with a large fully furnished kitchen. The bed was extremely comfortable. We also enjoyed the large screen TV and viewing options. It's upstairs inside a gated yard with a fish pond and beautiful landscaping on the same property as the owners who were very nice offering conversation if you want or total privacy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We are an active couple that loves travel and sharing our little urban slice of paradise with friends, old and new. We are both full-time professionals, working for the State of Colorado. Kids are grown and city life offers lots to do, most within walking distance. We love our back garden and keeping bees. We try to keep it serene and relaxing for our guests and for our own sanity.

Why they chose this property

We have owned the main house since 2012. It's an old (1904) Craftsman style brick house, built in 1904. The carriage house was built over a new garage in 2017. The neighborhood offers so many restaurants, bars, the Mayan Theater, festivals and places to walk or bike. It serves a wide diversity of people and is multidimensional. We enjoy taking the bus to uptown and walking over to Coors Field for a Rockies game in the summer. We're also so close to the Pepsi Center, home of the Denver Nuggets and the Avalanche. We love to share our love of the Denver Botanic Gardens with our guests. It's less than 2 miles away.

What makes this property unique

It's in the middle of the city but it's truly a quiet, private spot with a beautiful Zen back garden to share. Guests immediately melt into the serenity of the landscape and koi pond. Enjoy overlooking it all from the balcony, outside the carriage house before walking a block to high end restaurants that offer Asian bistro, Italian, French or just good ol' pub fare. We have a Trader Joes that is 6 blocks up the street and a liquor store a block away.
