Gorgeous view and comfortable stay at this VRBO on the water
Our third visit!
Perfect place to sit by the lake and unwind. Which is exactly what we wanted to do. Would not hesitate to recommend this cottage.
Idyllic setting for a perfect summer cottage retreat!
The cottage is nestled among huge, mature trees more steps from a small deck/dock overlooking the lake and the yacht club. Very well-appointed with everything you need to enjoy your getaway including a resident cat, dog and squirrel!
My husband and I have always wanted to visit Montreal, but since we live in a metropolitan area of Maryland, we wanted to stay away from the cacophony of the city — La Cachette was the perfect spot. Nestled among trees and facing a spectacular view of the Ottawa River, every morning and evening was met with the peaceful sounds of lapping water and animal life. The cottage is cozy and modern with every amenity and thoughtful touch guests could need. Highly recommend staying here!
Great escape from the city
Robin and Richard were wonderful hosts and the cottage was beautiful. We loved sitting on the dock watching the geese and grilling outside. Hope to visit again soon!
I would return
The cottage is conveniently located on the lakes edge of the quaint village of Hudson. Walking distance to the beach, woodland trails, summer theater, interesting restaurants, bars, shops and other attractions. Just a 5 minute drive to the popular Finnegan's Saturday summer market with artisans, antiques, homemade food and more! The Farmers Market Thursday afternoons provides fresh local produce right in the heart of Hudson Village. Take the ferry across the Lake of Two Mountains over to Oka for the day and try the regions famous 'poutine,' and of course Oka cheese made by monks or go apple picking in the fall.
