I always love staying here.
Great location, view, owner and LouLou!
We will be back.
My husband and I had another wonderful week in this beautiful and perfect little home for the second time . Everything we needed was available and ready . The weather was just awesome for we could entertain with friends outdoors . Thank you so much Robin and Richard for being such great hosts to this gem of yours . We are looking forward coming back in June and October 2017 :D
We absolutely loved our 3 night stay in La Cachette. Tucked away beside the Hudson Yacht club, this cottage has everything needed for a romantic get-away from the everyday. We loved enjoying a drink before dinner on the dock, as we were lulled by the distinct sounds of the boats on the water. So peaceful, and calm. The cottage is immaculate, cozy and quaint. Perfect for two. Robin and Richard are lovely hosts, La Cachette is a real gem, and Hudson is a lovely town. The perfect trio to make for a fabulous get away. We will be back!

We loved absolutely everything about our 2-week stay at La Cachette. The cottage is exactly as pictured. It is perfect for two people. We loved the unexpected walk-in closet in the bedroom, which allowed us to hang up some clothes and stash our luggage out of the way. The living room is comfortable and the TV package is great for a rainy day or end-of-the-day couch potato session. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need - sharp knives, oven mitts, cutting boards (all rare in vacation rentals!) corkscrew, wine glasses, strainer....you get the picture. Clean, tidy and modern enough without losing its quaint charm.
The view from the living room and bedroom or from the comfort of a Muskoka chair on the "over-the-water" deck is amazing. There's lots of activity on the water, given the proximity of the yacht club, but overhanging trees give some privacy so you don't feel completely exposed. The same goes for privacy from the neighbouring properties. The yard and the deck are not completely secluded, but definitely sufficiently private. It's really the best of both worlds - a private waterfront reatreat, but within easy walking distance of grocery store, liquor store, shops and restaurants.
Robin and Dick are charming, friendly and accommodating.
We would return in a heartbeat.
My husband and I took a short honeymoon and the cottage was the perfect place for it. Well laid out and furnished, it had everything we needed to cook and close to downtown Hudson for when we didn't. It's a short drive to Montreal for a day trip. We were even able to bring our dog, who loved laying by the screen door and watching the squirrels. Robin was a perfect host and we can't recommend this place enough. Thank you for such a wonderful relaxing weekend!
The cottage is conveniently located on the lakes edge of the quaint village of Hudson. Walking distance to the beach, woodland trails, summer theater, interesting restaurants, bars, shops and other attractions. Just a 5 minute drive to the popular Finnegan's Saturday summer market with artisans, antiques, homemade food and more! The Farmers Market Thursday afternoons provides fresh local produce right in the heart of Hudson Village. Take the ferry across the Lake of Two Mountains over to Oka for the day and try the regions famous 'poutine,' and of course Oka cheese made by monks or go apple picking in the fall.
