Private and large quiet lot in a great neighborhood with mostly seasonal home owners. This cottage features new CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING and heating, vaulted wood ceilings and modern amenities. New slate gray kitchen appliances just added in January. Two decks and three flat screen HDTV's. Cable, Netflix, and FREE WiFi provided. Quality furniture from Thomasville, Basset, Serta, and World Market. Cookware, linens, spa bath towels, etc.all quality. Simple, nicely updated quiet cabin with granite counter tops and modern kitchen with wood burning fireplace close to the heart of everything that makes Pinetop a really neat retreat. The cottage offers the best location in the Pinetop area as access to the National Forrest, ski area, fishing, lakes, hiking, biking, ATV trails, antique shops, restaurants, etc are all close.

You'll find hotel amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, bath and body bars, coffee, tea, popcorn, and more. Bring your boat, quads, etc. as the large circular driveway can accommodate anything that can be towed.

A short 25 minute drive to Sunrise Ski. This area is the best in Pinetop as it is close to all of the outdoor recreation that the White Mountains offer yet just a few minutes to the restaurants, shopping, and the numerous local shops of Pinetop.

Comfortable king and queen beds with down duvet comforters and 520 count linens to make your stay relaxing. The interior is well decorated with expansive front windows framing views of tall mature pines. Two twin roll-aways are available for additional sleeping for kids. The side yard has enclosed fencing to allow your small dogs to roam about with coated wire on the two rail fencing. A new 16 X 24 detached garage has just been completed and the previous garage will be converted into a recreation room in 2018.

We have the best housekeeping service on the mountain to ensure the cottage is clean and worry free.

Access is available (with fee) to the Pinetop Lakes recreation center which offers swimming, billiards, hot tub, tennis, weight/exercise room and more! Approximately 1/3 of our guest are return guest having stayed at least on one previous occasion. We think that speaks to the value, cleanliness, and quality of the cottage. Active military and first responders, please inquire for special rates. Low ACCURATE tax rate of 6.05%. One owner is licensed to sell real estate in the state of AZ.

About Ken and Judy Petersen

We purchased this cabin in 2002 and did an extensive remodel. We added a master bathroom with dual vanities and two walk in closets for both bedrooms. Total added square footage added was about 200 square feet. Formerly a long term rental, we decided we wanted to enjoy the cabin also and occasionally reserve a weekend for ourselves to escape the Arizona desert heat. We are continually updating the home. In 2014 updates include new stone on the chimney and wainscot exterior, new king bed in the master, decor corbels on the exterior, and a new gas BBQ grill. For 2015, new exterior paint and added interior decor. In 2016 we added Trane central air conditioning and the best available roll-a-way European bed for extra guest. For 2017 we have added upgraded slate gray kitchen appliances. For 2018, a new detached garage was added with covered breezeway to enhance winter ski access and additional leisure square footage in the previous garage. We enjoy sharing this property with our guests as we reach our goal, which is to enjoy this as our summer retirement home.

This site built home sits on a special lot with Blue spruce and Ponderosa Pines as well as a few Quaking Aspen. Silver Leaf Maple trees add a beautiful texture as the breeze stirs the leaves. Blue spruce and Limber pines are additional varieties you'll find on the property as well as indigenous rose plants.. The circular drive allows easy access in winter conditions for all vehicles. The location is the absolute best with the town of Pinetop a couple of minutes away as well as the closest area to skiing and all the National Forest wonders to explore. Hondah casino is just 2 miles away. There are two golf courses within a stone's throw, Pinetop Lakes and Pinetop Country Club. The recreation center is close by for swimming, work outs, spa, and so much more. The community also includes an equestrian center for horseback rides and winter sleigh rides.

What makes this house unique

Expansive wood framed crank windows and screened storm door allow the summer mountain breeze to draft through the cottage. On those few warm summer days, central air conditioning will keep you comfortable. Most cabins in Pinetop do not have A/C so this is unique to the area.The natural rock fireplace with masonry construction is rare. The floor plan allows for maximum usage of space and feels much larger than it is. The cottage is tastefully decorated with most furnishings new or updated continuously. Words like comfortable and quaint are overused but really do describe the feeling here. Perfect for couples, retirees, and small families. The recreation center is just a couple of minutes away in the neighborhood and all of its amenities are available for guests. Just show a copy of the rental agreement and for a small fee guest can swim, work out, play tennis, and so much more.

Tall ponderosas, quaking aspen, silver leaf maples and oak trees surround the property. Decks are nearly fully shaded all day long. Check with owner for Winter rules regarding pets and snow plow services. This is the best area for access to the National Forest, Ski area, Casino, horseback riding etc. and only 2 miles from town. The cottage is on a quiet residential street well away from the highway and guests have access to the Pinetop Lakes Community recreation Center for small fee, if desired.

A Great Place To Stay When In Pinetop

I would recommend Ken and Judy’s cottage to any traveling to Pinetop. They are so easy to work with and the cottage is awesome.

This is my third July coming up to Ken and Judy’s cottage; each time I walk in the door, it feels like home. Their improvements are awesome. The new air conditioning is great, even though it is usually not needed, except for a few days. Love the new appliances, especially the ice maker. Enclosing the yard makes it so much easier if you have a dog.

You can tell how much Ken and Judy care about their guest comfort. Even though I bring my own linens, the ones they supply are far superior to any house I’ve rented on Home Away. The kitchen is fully furnished, with more than I could ever use. The flat screen tv’s and the wifi are a must for me and they fit that bill with great wifi and there re tv’s in each of the bedrooms and the living room.

The neighborhood is very quiet and safe (something that means a lot to me, since I travel solo). You are close to everything, including a Safeway, movie theater, casino, bars and restaurants (including my favorites Darbi’s, Charlie Clarks, The Picnic Basket and Red Devil Pizza).

Ken and Judy were so easy and great to work with and the cabin is beautiful. Many thoughtful upgrades that give it a cabin feel yet still luxurious such as the bedding, kitchen and beautiful living room area.
