1 Bedroom Cottage In Quiet Neighborhood With Awesome Ocean Views

Blue Aweigh Cottage is a cozy but roomy cottage with amazing view! Full kitchen (see details below) , large br w/king size bed, and pull out sofa bed in lr(great for a kid or 2 or 3rd adult) flat screen TV-HDsatellite service, wifi,gas grill, washer & dryer, hair dryer, ironing bd & iron, beach towels,chairs,cooler all provided.

Kitchen has stove & oven,coffee maker,blender, dishwasher,microwave,full size fridge/freezer .

All linens, dishes, cooking equipment and utensils provided.

Decks off of lr & br have view of Caribbean sea,face southeast-sunrise-and you can hear the ocean-

The pool deck has 270 degree views and is perfect for sunset cocktails. Pool is large and refreshing after a day at the beach.And there is a hot tub as well

About Eric Lambert

Eric Lambert is the owner and builder of Blue Aweigh Cottage. He and Paula Lambert purchased the property (land) in 1980 and built their own home. Then in 1992 built a cottage for Paula's parents to retire in.

Hurricane Marilyn blew it all down in September 1995. Including the main house.

We rebuilt our home and finished it in 1997, but did not get around to rebuilding the cottage until 2006.

Paula's parents left the island in November 1995 with no desire to come back (who can blame them). But Eric and Paula have deep roots here and finally were able to rebuild the cottage. It is named Blue Aweigh which is a play on words because it literally BLEW AWAY!

Both homes are constructed of solid concrete now, and were designed to take the whatever the elements dish out!

Our children were born and raised here. Eric is an avid SCUBA diver and fisherman with his best buddy Captain CC Kreglo.

Paula is a bookkeeper and has her office at home. Our children are grown and live in Illinois. So, when we can we are there spending as much time as possible with them and our grand children.

We have been on St John since July 1979, and even though the hurricanes were devastating, we cannot think of anywhere we'd rather live.

Eric built 30 homes on St John and is now busy managing our properties-we also own SAMBA AZUL-a 2 bedroom villa, VRBO #554121-check it out!

We purchased the lot for the view. Period.

What makes this cottage unique

The view is amazing, the location is quiet and safe. The cottage is cozy and comfortable-affording sunrise view and the pool deck is a great place to enjoy the sunset.

We always have cooling tradewinds and the night skies are full of stars.

The pool and hot tub are entirely for the use of our guests. The cottage has open beam ceilings, and open spacious floor plan.

When we are here and not travelling we are available to help with any questions, or issues that guests may have. And can address any random stuff that may arise-filling a propane tank for the grill for example.

Owners are available to assist you with dining decisions, where the best beaches & snorkelling are. St John is 2/3 National Park with many beautiful beaches! Blue Aweigh is located near 2 that you can hike to with great snorkelling and 15 minutes -45 minutes drive from many other fabulous ones. And we are 5 minutes from terrific dining and shopping. Our guests love to come 'HOME' to the cottage after a day of adventure and enjoy a refreshing swim in the pool.

Beautiful One Bed, Chocolate hole

April 24 until May 3, 2017.

This was our third time staying at the lovely, Blue Aweigh one-bedroom home.. This is a very nice quiet well-kept one-bedroom house with a pool area. The inside has all the amenities needed to make your stay comfortable. Eric and Paula Lambert are very nice people .Always willing to help you with any of your needs while there on the island. I would highly recommend Blue Aweigh.

Most interesting vacation we have ever had

The Only reason it got 4 stars because the first four days were magnificent but the last day we had to survive through Hurricane Irma. Paula and Eric were in touch with us up until we lost communication. We appreciated their kindness and support. Their property manager, Rita, was an absolute angel. She helped us through the evacuation process and got us safely to our families.

The cottage was wonderful and withstood the full brunt of the cat 5 hurricane. It had everything we needed and more. The one suggestion I would offer is to rent a jeep to get there since the road is paved and unpaved in spots. When they rent again take a good look at this. Great value for the price!! GE

Beauty and Peaceful

My husband and I just loved our stay at the cottage. It had the Caribbean flair with all the modern conveniences. The bed was super comfortable as were all the other furnishings. The location is a short drive to town but it's really quiet and peaceful at the cottage. One day I was on the balcony enjoying the wonderful breeze and view when someone in a nearby house started playing blues guitar. Could of been a local or a rock star-I will never know but I sure did enjoy it. My husband really enjoyed the private pool for night swims. I preferred it in the daytime. I did wake one morning with a pain in my side and wanted to get it checked out. Eric & Paula were out of town but they had given me their assistant's contact info. Rita was able to direct me to a medical facility. Turned out to be nothing. Definitely go to Maho Bay--just gorgeous.

Very relaxing!

Eric and Paula made us feel very welcome, then left us alone to enjoy St John. Property close to grocery store, Cruz Bay. Easy drive to north shore beaches. We had use of the pool for those days we just wanted to stay "home ". Would recommend this property - better than a condo. Hate to leave!

So Perfect!

Blew Aweigh is so amazingly wonderful....thanks to the attention to detail Eric and Paula have taken to assure your stay is the best possible. It's spotlessly clean, very spacious and there isn't anything you'd want they haven't thought of...down to coffee, laundry soap and a myriad of box games and movies. They have developed this cool system where if you want to read one of the many books available and you don't finish it, you can take it with you...also past tenants (including us) buy food and other items and if not used leave them for the next person....hence, you have a ton of need to spend the money. One note of caution....the roads are tough...we rented a car (just a normal car) and it made it nearly impossible to climb the challenging hills. I suggest that you rent a jeep or some all-wheel vehicle....lessens the stress. Oh, and I have to mention that Paula and Eric are so cool!!!

I've gone to St. John for the last 13 years, always staying at one of the resorts (the same one for the last 8 or 9 years). I won't be doing that again! This little cottage is adorable and fully stocked with everything. It's quiet and peaceful, out of the way yet a quick drive to anything you might need. Until I win the lottery and can buy my own St. John villa (hah!), this is my new go-to place!

We are not responsible for construction noise or disruption. We appreciate your understanding in these areas where construction exists. Typically crews begin work between 7:30-8:00 am and 3:30-4:00 pm.
