Beautiful and easy
The property was clean and lovely and matched pictures and description. It’s located in a quiet, safe neighborhood and the owner made the process really pretty easy. Would recommend and use again.

Belfast is beautiful
This is a very cute downstairs flat. We enjoyed yummy takeout from local restaurants and morning coffee at the flat, we didn’t cook much. Beds are comfortable. Owners live above. It is quiet except they are up at 7am to 7:30 am the morning & moving around so we heard them as our alarm. We appreciated all of the tips, especially the basket of supplies for the local lobster pound. Belfast is a lovely waterfront town.

Family vacation
Centrally located property. Well maintained. It wasn’t clear that there was no AC, but it wasn’t a problem given the fans and cool evenings with open windows.

Comfortable, quiet, clean, spacious home in Belfast, Maine
The apartment is the entire first floor of a large home in a quiet neighborhood of this historic seaside town. The upstairs was also rented but we barely knew someone else was there. The host was very friendly and helpful. The unit was clean and well-equipped. The beds were comfortable. We will recommend it to others.

About the host

Host profile image
Nick and Alice Seeger fell in love with Penobscot Bay more than a decade ago while sailing from the Hudson River. They pulled up stakes from the Hudson Valley in New York to followed their dream and make Belfast their home! Nick is a musician who plays guitar and banjo Alice is a weaver and photographer. We walk to the shore every day with Jazzy our English Labrador Retriever, and spend time with friends playing music and sharing pot luck. Come spend time in our little corner of paradise.

Nick and Alice look forward to helping make your Maine vacation fun and relaxing.

Why they chose this property

We love architecture, old houses and anything antique. This house was built by a ship builder in 1855! George Washing Cottrell built 17 beautiful three and four masted schooners in a large barn right here on the original property and launched them at the end of Race Street. Keeping and old house in shape takes a bit of work, whatever the project, it feels always like having a conversation with GW Cottrell.

What makes this property unique

We are close to everything! The shore, Saturday Farmers' Market, Main Street or City Park... all just an easy stroll away. There are also trails in Belfast that meander through the harbor then along the "Passy" river where you might spot a Bald Eagle. Artists, Musicians, Organic Farmers and Lobstermen call Belfast home. What more can I say?
