Berkshire 4Br Cape Cottage near Big Pond

This is private 2-story home across the street from a BEAUTIFUL Lake in Otis. This Cape Cottage is a perfect fit for a couple or family wanting a summer vacation respite.
With a combined kitchen and dining area, living room, WIFI with internet TV, back deck w/ outdoor shower and BBQ overlooking open space lawn and beautiful trees - the screened-in front porch is one of our favorite spots .
There are 4 bedrooms. The first floor has one bedroom with a Queen bed.
A full bath and laundry are also on the first floor. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs and a half bath. A Queen in the Master, Double in the 2nd and 2 twins in the 3rd.
Outside there is room to play in the front yard or backyard - a short drive to the Otis beach... and the ability to launch a kayak from the shared dock across the street onto the Lake.
We are not on the water but we access our shared dock by walking across the road, and down the path across the street, which makes it safe for toddlers.
Enjoy all the Berkshires has to offer in our quiet, private neighborhood situated within walking distance to the Lake and nestled in the trees.

Wonderful lake house
I had a fantastic time staying here. The lake is easily accessible, large, full of wildlife, and great for swimming. The provided canoe and kayak are all you need. The house has plenty of privacy, but close enough to others that you feel the energy of the community. East Otis is a quaint town with all you need that is also close enough to the larger Berkshires towns. The house has tons of space. Plenty of bedrooms. Kitchen well stocked. Large living room with great couches. The back deck is fantastic, as is the front porch. Really a perfect house for what you need. Very temperate as well since the trees prevent much direct sunlight. Wifi excellent for WFH.

We had a great time at Otis. Kathleen was great at communicating with us and she sent very clear directions to the house. She was always ready if we had any question. The house was clean and it’s location , a 2 minute walk to the pond, and the beautiful back yard, made our stay very relaxing while we had a chance to swim and kayak daily.

Great Spot
If you are looking to get away in the Berkshires, this place hits the sweet spot. Set back from the road and only a 1 minute walk to the lake our two children loved playing in the yard and water. While we were skeptical of no AC, the breeze and low huminity kept the house cool especially at night. Kathy, the owner, made herself available at every turn during our long stay. We hope to come back soon.

Perfect getaway for a week
My mom (72) used to spend summers in the same area when she was younger, and missed it. I needed a vacation. Before I knew it we'd booked this property for a week to solve our problems. And it was wonderful. Lake water is clear and warm, not many boats, not very noisy. We went swimming for a while every day. Kitchen is very good, lots of cookware and enough space to do what you need., we cooked nearly all of our meals. We even grilled out back one day. The area is as green and charming as ever. I went kayaking on the lake with sister one day as well -- there are two in good condition at the back of the house and it's a short and manageable haul to the lake. Also I had good communication with the owner leading up to the stay so I knew what to expect for our family, she is very good about getting back to you in a timely manner. Overall very pleased, we all felt like we would love to do this again when it was over.
