SHORT TERM RENTAL CHANGE: THE CITY OF NELSON HAS RECENTLY INSTITUTED A BY-LAW TO CONTROL SHORT TERM RENTALS THAT PREVENTS ME FROM RENTING THE STANLEY STREET HOUSE ON A SHORT TERM BASIS, IE , LESS THAN 30 DAYS. THE REASON IS THAT THE STANLEY STREET HOUSE IS MY PERMANENT SECOND RESIDENCE BUT NOT MY PRINCIPAL RESIDENCE. SINCE THE DECISION WILL NOT CREATE ADDITIONAL HOUSING IN NELSON IN OUR CASE, BUT WILL TAKE AWAY VACATION OPTIONS FOR FAMILIES AND TOURIST DOLLARS FROM CITY BUSINESSES, I WILL ARGUE MY CASE WITH CITY HALL. PAST OR POTENTIAL FUTURE GUESTS OF THE STANLEY STREET HOUSE CAN WRITE A LETTER OF SUPPORT OR EXPRESS THEIR CONCERN TO THE CITY OF NELSON "MANAGER OF DEVELOPMENT SERVICES" , SUITE 101 - 310 WARD STREET, NELSON, BRITISH COLUMBIA, V1L 5S4 IF SO DESIRED.

A spacious heritage home, central to all the amenities of Nelson; can accommodate up to 8 adults, with 2 bedrooms each with queen beds, one pull-out sofa-bed and a private nook off the 2nd bedroom perfect for kids. The home has been totally updated with large living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, two new bathrooms, and new laundry, plumbing/electrical service, energy-efficient furnace and water heater. Lower level is suitable for entertaining as kitchen w/island opens onto large dining room which opens into the living room w/gas fire-place and TV. There is an private outdoor patio and BBQ off the kitchen. Free Wi-Fi. The Stanley Street House has plenty of room, is very comfortable and completely equiped.

Baker Street and downtown is a five minute walk featuring street entertainment, festivals, cool shops, art outlets, lively bars, live theatre, great restaurants, a bright new recreation centre, and the marvelous Touchstones Museum and Art Gallery. Family parks (e.g. Gyro and Lakeside Parks) are close by.

Comfortable, relaxing, easy living in the Kootenay; Endless outdoor recreational opportunities. Awesome skiing.
