Our Maui home is permitted with the County of Maui #STMP 2013-0001.
The upstairs has a master bedroom with a California King mattress with adjoining bathroom having a Jacuzzi tub separate from shower. The secondary bedroom also has a California King mattress with an adjoining secondary 3/4 bath. The kitchen has all amenities with dining room seating for 10 plus bar seating. It is adjacent to an outside lanai (patio), seating for four; where you enjoy your coffee looking at the distant ocean views or possible rainbows.There is a parlor(den) with TV, Cable, Stereo, Internet and board games/books, etc. Lower level guests must use outside stairs to access lower level; it has two bedrooms one with a California King mattress next to a 3/4 bath and one with a queen mattress with an adjoining secondary 1/2 powder bath. They have their own parlor(den), couch w/ queen mattress, sitting area, TV, and cable.

Family friendly and fabulous location
We had a truly wonderful Hawaiian getaway in Makawao and felt so comfortable here during our three week stay. The central location was the perfect jumping point for adventures, and the quiet, spacious property served as a welcoming haven at the end of our busy days. There was no shortage of space for our family and friends, and the home was thoughtfully equipped with kids in mind. We especially appreciated the large kitchen, open living space for the kids to play, and all the beach gear. We loved star gazing at night from the private driveway - the kids had a blast finding fruit trees around the property and watching the goats play in the nearby farm. Would highly recommend this beautiful home for a family getaway and we would love to stay again.

Beautiful home, near the cool, funky town of Makawao.
Tasey and Pat were absolutely fantastic - super welcoming and accommodating. Even though check-in was at 4pm, they allowed us to securely, store our groceries/baggage, earlier that day, enabling us to make the most of our day, while they cleaned the house between the last group and ours. They were equally as accommodating on our last day, again w/ baggage/food storage, which enabled us to ride our bikes, worry-free. The large garden has quite a variety of fruit and nut trees (bananas, avocado, lemon etc), which we were welcome to harvest. Our group had 4 couples. All of us were comfortable, and felt that we had our own space. The dining and living rooms are open, bright and warm. And the kitchen was big and well-equipped. The town of Makawao has some great shops, galleries, restaurants and cafes. Our favs were Freshies and Sip Me coffee, as both offered really good vegan/gluten-free options. Not far away, is the Kula Lodge (really nice dinners w/ sunset views) and Grandma’s, along the Kula hwy (coffee and snacks). We were all cyclists and hikers. So this area was perfect, for us. The roads, btw, around Makawao and Haiku are lesser known, for road cyclists - but offer some of the most beautiful, well-paved, quiet roads, for various options - rather than just the epic 3 rides, on the Ils. (West Maui Loop, Rd to Hana and the Kula hwy). For sure, we highly recommend this area and Pat and Tasey’s home! Hopefully, we’ll be back one day.

I grew up here on Maui by Mama's Fish House on the beach of Kuau with many fond memories of spear fishing, catching lobster, and grilling our catch on the beach. One day, me and my buddies were watching Don Ho singing, 'Tiny Bubbles' at Mama's Fish House as a young boy peeking in the window.
As I grew, I went hunting for deer and pig upcountry. Then I knew, upcountry Maui could be my piece of paradise in the clouds. The tranquil cool breezes, lush greenery, and the many rainbow skies were for me.

Why they chose this property

Our piece of paradise is this mountain home. We work all day or play all day; then return to relax at our private country home. We enjoyed raising cattle, planting fruit, and flowers of different varieties to share with our family. The elevation keeps it cool and green year round. There are close amenities, shopping and activities.

What makes this property unique

Our sunsets, rainbows, and ocean view from the lanai at breakfast or early dinners.
Where the home was built on the back of the property for privacy.
The separate lower level for our older children; after a hard day at work, sometimes allowing our six children to invite cousins and friends to the lower level to watch their kid movies, play games, or listen to their stereo.
The separate upstairs den, TV, and stereo for us adults. The master suite Jacuzzi for relaxing.
Family cooking together and visiting outside our carport with the cool breeze. Where our children would run, bike, and play with no worries down the private drive.
The small town amenities, activities, and the open green mountain pastures minutes away.
