Unit 412 has been completely rebuilt, all new contemporary furnishings. The kitchen has everything you need, 2 coffee machines, blender, barware, electric candles for the lanai.

Excellent swimming and snorkeling off our point, it is some of the best on island, paddle boards, kayaks and all beach/snorkel equipment can be rented reasonably on site.

The Surf Shop also rents beach chairs and umbrellas as well as surf and boogie boards and the equipment listed above. (We also have an owners closet which has a few beach chairs and soft coolers for the beach.) The activities Desk: Conveniently located off the lobby level can make all arrangements for luau's, whale watching, snorkel and scuba trips or boat trips to Lanai and Molokini.

The beach was perfect. The pool was warm. Rooms were quiet. Decks are big. Great location. Parking space a little tight. Would go back again

Really nice location but next time I will rent another unit.

Overall you can not beat the location. The sound of the waves as you sleep is awesome. The sunsets were out of this world. I loved having a beach steps from our condo and it was great to snorkel off of. Staying on the 4th floor was great because is was high enough up so you could see a great view but still fairly easy to walk up the stairs to.

We decided to invite some great friends of ours because we had a second room. They wanted to bring their very well behaved 11 year old son, so I emailed owner to ask permission for this. She agreed, but charged us an additional sum for him to stay with us. I am baffled to what this charge was for since my friend had to bring her own air mattress for her son because it was not provided. All that was provided for the extra sum was another set of sheets. The owner seemed a little freaked out at the fact that "we had so many people staying in her condo". We do not party, we are super low key and can afford a 10 day luxery condo rental, I did not feel she had anything to worry about.

The condo itself is pretty small and the bedroom in the ocean view area has next to no privacy for the people staying there. The only thing that separates you from the rest of condo is some flimsy sliding doors that were difficult to to put back in slots that they go in. Know if you rent this condo and are staying in the ocean view room you will have very little privacy from rest of condo. If privacy is important to you, I would not rent this condo.

The most annoying thing was the bathroom door was a slider and would not remain closed. It had no lock or latch on it so it would slowly slide open while you were going the bathroom. This was annoying because you want some privacy when going to bathroom/shower. We contacted owners and they said they would have it fixed but no one ever showed to fix it. They tried to send some out 2 days before we left, but by then I had dealt w it for 7 days.

When we got home I got an email from owner accusing us all this "damage" to her condo and I was told I was losing my security deposit. I was shocked. We are being accused of breaking a bed that we did nothing in, but sleep. We told them we did not break bed. They said "regardless, they are holding us responsible and charging us for it". They are also making a claim on our insurance for "other damages". We did not damage their property, but we are being charged anyway. If u rent this condo demand a walk through before u stay/afte

Owner's Response: Our renters have every right to expect the premises to be in excellent condition when they arrive and to let us know if any part does not meet their expectations. We scheduled our handyman to adjust the door closure and believed he did so as scheduled. Several days later we discovered he had failed to do so and by the time he could reschedule the renters declined, preferring to delay repairs until after their departure. We have accepted responsibility for this problem and extended our apologies. The repairs were made the day after their departure. As to the damages to the bed frame, a glass table top and the top of a TV cabinet, there is no possibility that they did not occur during the renter’s occupancy by our own observations and those of our housekeepers and management assistant, both immediately before and after her stay. We believe she may not have known about the damage, however there were four others in the group. We understand accidents do happen, and that is why prudent renters purchase insurance and owners require deposits. In all, and most importantly, she and her group seemed to enjoy their stay, and it is unfortunate their vacation had this kind of sequel.

Great Condo

Very comfortable stay for family of 4 including two teens. Nice location to drive to Wailea, Lahaina, Hana, etc. Beds were comfortable. View was great. We loved opening up the doors to the lanai for the fresh ocean breezes. Outdoor closet stocked with boogie boards, snorkel gear, soft coolers, sand toys, noodles, and beach chairs. It was very nice to have the onsite small grocery store, water sport rentals, restaurant, and yoga studio. Nice reef for snorkeling just in front of property. Every morning staff were cleaning pool area and grills. Property was pristine. Loved Maui and this condo. Mahalo!

Loved it!

This is the best beach in the world! The unit was clean and updated. Had all of the amenities in order to cook your own meals. The one thing it needs is some kind of drying rack on the back patio to hang wet towels and swimsuits. Other than that, it was perfect!

Wonderful girls getaway!

My mom, myself and daughter spent 9 wonderful nights staying in this wonderful unit at Mana Kai Maui. The condo had every amenity one could need. The ocean view was priceless. I had to contact Kathy a couple of times and she was quick to respond. Mana Kai is located in a very nice area with plenty of dining options. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it will definitely not be last time to visit! Thank you for sharing your little slice of paradise with us.

My stay was awesome

I walked in and there was champagne and a card welcoming me and my soon to wife into this beautiful condo by the beach. The condo looked exactly liked it did on the pictures. It was clean, comfortable, all the appliances were up to date and our view was amazing. The only minor issue was the construction but there were signs posted saying when and where the construction was taking place so it didn't bother us much at all. Besides we came to Maui to get married and enjoy ourselves not sit in the condo all week so the construction was completed about time we arrived back to the condo from our daily adventures. Kathy was very understanding when it came to how we wanted to make our payment arrangements, her response time was top notch, and she is very professional. I will be recommending this particular condo to my friends and family. Thank you Kathy.

About Kathy Somerton

This is us enjoying the sunset whale watching cruise on the Kai Kanani, which is known for their Molokini snorkeling, and whale watching tours. They depart three miles down the road from Makena Beach. Our other favorite things to do while on Maui include kayaking, bicycling and golf at the beautiful Wailea courses which are only a few miles from the condo.

Why Kathy Somerton chose Kihei

We chose this property because we believe Keawakapu is the best family beach and it is continuously voted as one of the most beautiful beaches as well as the setting for multi million dollar homes down its half mile plus length. And most of all we like the warm sunny weather for which the Kihei/Wailea area is well known.

What makes this condo unique

The Mana Kai recently underwent a multi - million dollar renovation of the exterior, restaurant, bar, and lobby area, as well as a complete remodeling and expansion of the swimming pool. As of October 2013 we completely rebuilt and customized unit #412. Larry is an award winning California and Hawaii architect and we hired a local interior design firm for purchase of all new contemporary furnishings.

All floors were replaced with crema bottocino tile, the kitchen was expanded and top of the line appliances were added including a Sub-Zero refrigerator. All new bathrooms, toilets, showers and tub as well as an upgraded air conditioning system for the entire unit was installed. The front bedroom unit has a King size bed (luxury mattresses utilized by Four Seasons and Grand Wailea Hoolei Resorts) have been selected. The back bedroom has two Extra long twin beds which can be pulled together and utilized as a king as well; and a second full size bathroom.
