About Property Manager/Owner
David has traveled extensively. He particularly enjoys historically interesting destinations. He dabbles in symphonic music composition but recently has spent much of his time restoring 'The Studio' using techniques and materials that were available in 1904. The 'guts' of the house however, electrical, plumbing, heating, AC, bathrooms and kitchen are all either new or recently updated and almost all of the appliances, mattresses, bedding, towels and so forth are new. Welcome to this new listing!
Property Manager/Owner purchased this House in 1994
Why Property Manager/Owner chose Greektown
It's the perfect location. A safe vibrant upscale neighbourhood, especially in the evening, with 157 shops and restaurants within a 10 minute walk. You can access more of Toronto's most interesting sites conveniently from here than the waterfront or financial district which tend to go quiet at night. Toronto is a very big city. Certain areas right in the core are less desirable, especial for families.
What makes this House unique
Most of the places I've stayed in I don't remember, only the very unique and special places stand out in my mind. This house really is extraordinary.

A Wonderful home away from home: Warm, welcoming and convenient!
With an interest in historic homes, architecture and design, we were thrilled to stay in David's lovely character home. The location was convenient in a wonderful neighbourhood - close to grocery stores, restaurants and transit... But even more, the house was a great place to "come home" to every day. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this darling home: relaxing in the living room by the fire; dining in the sunroom and continuously perusing the art, books and architectural details. We will return!
Charming arts and crafts property full of character, art and history.
This characterul property was like stepping back in time. Full of quirky charm, bags of space and perfectly situated, the Owen Staples House will not disappoint. We felt priviledged to stay there.

A Historical Home in a delightful neighborhood in Toronto
Our family had a superb week at Riverdale enjoying the tranquility of the house with its beautiful quirky rooms. The location is exceptional for a family break with plenty to do within walking distance and ease of access to the city centre.
An artistic hideaway in Toronto
We had a most enjoyable and interesting stay at the Staples house in Toronto, Our host, David Staples, was very helpful in getting us settled and well, acquainted with the house and the surroundings. We found everything we needed during our stay and were very comfortable. The house itself is most interesting, filled with history and art. We would not hesitate to recommend the Owen Staples house to others.
We were saddened a few days after our stay to learn of the tragic shooting that occurred just a few blocks away on Danforth Avenue in the area which we frequented during our stay. Our condolences to all concerned.
Historic and modern at the same time!
We truly enjoyed our stay. Large home with all amenities provided. Full of historic charm and comfortable with plenty of room. Lovely back yard which our dog enjoyed. Owner was friendly and helpful. Great neighborhood.
