Aftermath Hurricanes Irma and Maria: Update 2017-11-18

We wish to inform you that our Maison Palmyra Home was always and remains open to greet our vacation guests.

We are very fortunate, our property was built under the new building code regulation. We had only minor aesthetic and superficial damage and all repairs have been completed with the exception of gutters that will be replaced as soon as the contractor is available to install them.

The pool has been up and running since late September and looks as good as ever.

As for the vegetation: The large trees lost several branches and foliage. It's amazing how quickly the landscaping has recovered since the hurricanes, this is Mother Nature at her best.

The electrical service is underground and was restored immediately after the hurricane in our sector (Grace Bay).

The telecommunications network (Cellular, Telephone, Internet and Television) is working in Providenciales.

Almost every restaurant on the Island has reopened within days of the hurricane. The owners and their staff have done a fantastic job. They are now just waiting to delight you with your favorite dish.

Most of the resorts are open and have completed cleaning and repairs.

Grace Bay has sustained minimal damage. No efforts were spared in restoring the area. As for the Grace Bay Beach: It's just amazing. The beach is just as beautiful as ever. Below is a video produced only 24 hours after the passage of Hurricane Irma. This video was produced by Mr. John Galleymore who was in Providenciales to attend to repairs.

What makes this townhome unique

The beautiful landscaped gardens attracted us from the very beginning. The private gated community is a bonus. The layout of the house is well thought of, with spacious rooms, ten foot ceilings on the main floor and vaulted wooden ceilings in both bedrooms on the upper floor. But what really convinced us is its great location near the beach and all the commodities.

We became owners of the property in April 2013. We renewed and renovated the entire home. We made it a home that we ourselves will enjoy living in several times a year.

Maison Palmyra Home was absolutely amazing, and we are looking forward to going back. It’s a beautiful modern-looking and very comfortable townhouse located in a gated area with a shared courtyard which includes a pool, a BBQ and a picnic table. The master bedroom is particularly spacious. There are two complete bathrooms and one powder room. All facilities were perfectly clean. We really appreciated the well-stocked kitchen given that we had many meals at home. Toiletries, snorkeling gear, bicycles, beach chairs, towels were all included with the unit.

A grocery store, and a number of shops, restaurants, and bars are all located within walking distance. You can access the beach in about 8 minutes (you may walk through The Sands resort). I have never seen so many different shades of blue, green and turquoise in the ocean. The beaches are breathtaking.

It was nice to have the option to cook at home if we wanted to. We purchased our groceries at the nearby Graceway Gourmet and IGA stores. If you’re going out for supper, we highly recommend the Mango Reef restaurant, where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset dinner on the beach with your toes in the sand. We also enjoyed Lupo, The Vix and Hemingway’s restaurants located in Grace Bay village, about a 10-15 minute walk away. The Thursday night Fish Fry is also worth checking out. Good food at good prices, live music and dancing - a lot of fun. During our stay, we visited many of the local attractions. We rented a car and went to Chalk Sound, Long Bay beach, Sapodilla Bay, Taylor Bay, Grace Bay, and Leeward beach. All were great! We also went snorkeling at the Coral Gardens and Smith’s Reef. The coral and fish at Smith’s Reef were beautiful! Finally, we also tried parasailing which was exciting and gave us the nicest views of the colorful ocean.

Overall, we highly recommend Maison Palmyra to anyone planning a trip to Turks and Caicos. It felt like home!

Coming back for sure

All four of us fell in love with the property. It’s close to everything, beach, restaurants, nightlife. There were minor plumbing issues but we called the property manager and it was fixed immediately. We are looking to come back again and would like to stay here again!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!

Wonderful Home in a Great Location

The townhome was very spacious and as nice as the pictures shown. Access to the pool out back was delightful. The beach was a short walk which we enjoyed every day sometimes twice a day. There were many restaurants within short walking distance and the well stocked grocery store a short drive away. This was not our first time to Turks & Caicos and it did not disappoint yet again. Try Smith's Reef for snorkelling a short drive down the beach. We would highly recommend this spot for your next vacation. Shaen, Steve, Jaxon and Kylie.

Great Property

We had such a great stay here in February! The property was clean, comfortable and matched the description perfectly. Walk to town and to the beach! Hosts were friendly, communicative and accommodating. Management was also very helpful. Everything you need you will find here for a relaxing vacation.

Beautiful Condo

We stayed here from February 14, 2018 to February 21, 2018.

The photographs perfectly matched what the Condo looked like. The Condo was well furnished and the kitchen had everything we needed. We felt right at home.

The pool was just outside of our door and we thoroughly enjoyed this area.

I would definitely stay here again. The Condo owners and Ronnie were absolutely amazing and helpful. Thanks for making our vacation so wonderful.

Wonderful Hosts and Property

My family of four (children ages 9 and 13) enjoyed a wonderful stay at this home. This location is very safe and wonderfully family orientated. The hosts provide beach towels, sand toys, snorkel gear and even life jackets! All of our needs were accommodated, and the few minor issues we had during our stay were resolved promptly and efficiently. I hope that we will return one day soon.

Grace Bay 2017, November

This was our first time to the Turks and Caicos so we were a little unsure of what to expect. The process of renting the lodgings through Michele and Alain was clear, rapid and went without a hitch. We provided the hour we would be present and the day we arrived the propriety manager was there to explain the many features of the home and provide us the keys. The bedrooms were large and well decorated. Bathrooms were well appointed. The kitchen is well equipped with a very large island where most of our meals were taken. Having access to a BBQ was an enjoyable addition to this home. The pool is very accessible and very quiet at most times. While this place is known for Grace Bay Beach my wife and I immensely enjoyed Sapodilla Bay with the calm waters. Many restaurants and businesses were still closed and it was clear that the island was still attempting to recuperate from the recent hurricanes. We would find many closed doors over the ten days and this was somewhat discouraging. We highly recommend visiting the Turk:s Head Brewery. I strongly recommend also the rental of a car as there are numerous other areas of the island worth exploring. Challenging however, driving on the other side of the road. Thanks Alain and Michele for sharing your exotic get-away vacation home with us. This is a snorkeler's paradise and we felt very safe not only in the home but while walking through the town. It was a memorable trip for all of us.

Concerning the restaurants and businesses, many have just reopened during the last two weeks, in order to be up and running for Christmas. Our favorites, Mango Reef, Bistro Bay, Sharkbite and The Conch Shack are all in service. We’ve never stopped at the Turks Head Brewery, but we are now intrigued, and will make sure to visit it on our next trip. Again, thank you for your constructive remarks and for having chosen our vacation home in beautiful Grace Bay.
