Although I now live in Ottawa, I grew up on Prince Edward Island and it will always be my home. My husband, three children and I travel back as often as possible and feel fortunate to have a place on this Island paradise we call home ... even though we can't be there all year-round to enjoy it, there is no place that brings more happiness to us.
Alana Coleman purchased this cottage in 2010
As someone who has rented cottages on Prince Edward Island for several years, I know how difficult it can be to find the right family cottage. If you are not interested in a typical 'row' cottage crammed between 10 other cottages and instead want a quiet, spacious setting where you can walk to the beach and play with your children this is the spot for you. New, clean and conveniently located close to grocery stores, Laundromats and famed tourist destinations, while being only a 20-minutes drive from Charlottetown, you get the very best of all worlds.
We had a wonderful week at this family cottage. We loved the ocean view and the proximity to the beach. There was more than enough space for 4 adults and 4 kids. The cottage is very clean and the kitchen is well-appointed. The bedrooms are a great size and all the linens needed were available. We really appreciated the toys and games that were available. We did not want for anything. The dishwasher, washer and dryer were a great plus!
The owners were welcoming, helpful and easy to contact.
It is a peaceful and welcoming cottage! We felt at home right away and were very sad to leave! We highly recommend this cottage! What a great find!
Finding affordable accommodations to fit our entire family is trying on a good day. (Grandma, Two sisters and their families) With young children in tow, we wanted a place with a yard to enjoy whenever desired and short walking distance to the beach. Every one of our needs was met and exceeded. Alana was wonderful to deal with and her mom Frieda was welcoming and helpful on arrival day. The cottage was amazing in it's location and well appointed, we needed for absolutely nothing, right down to toys for our children and a wagon to haul everything to the beach. The lousy weather went unnoticed as we enjoyed the screened in porch and the beach daily, if rain threatened, we were back in minutes. The wonderful accommodations sure made camping the second week difficult, ;) we were completely spoiled and are eager for our next visit! Thank you Coleman Family for sharing your piece of heaven with us, we would recommend your cottage to everyone!
We had a lovely stay in this charming, family-friendly cottage. We were four adults and two children and there was ample room for everyone. The cottage is fully-furnished, including a dishwasher and washer/dryer! We enjoyed having our coffee on the porch each morning, gazing out at the ocean. The large beach is only a short walk away. We spent hours collecting shells, making sand castles, splashing about, etc. North Rustico is a great little town, with everything you could need (grocery, beer store, boardwalk, fishing, bakery, used books and ice cream!), and was perfectly situated for day trips around the island. We will definitely be staying here again!
My husband and I stayed here with friends for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is immaculate and welcoming; fully equipped with linens, beach items, kitchen items, etc. The setting is beautiful and peaceful. It was lovely to be able to sit outside on the front porch or back screened porch to relax and take in the views, which even included a bald eagle our last night there. We found the location to be a perfect home base for day trips to various parts of the island. There are several great restaurant options within 10-15 minutes of the cottage, our favorites being Blue Mussel Cafe and The New Glasgow Mill. We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay!
Excellent stay in their beautiful cottage, very quiet and quick walk to the beach. I appreciated the beach towels and beach chairs. Check-in was easy. Can't complain!
We recently stayed in this great cottage for a week in July.
The cottage is in Anglo Rustico which we found to be very peaceful and picturesque, and only a 10 minute drive to North Rustico village. It is a great launch point for trips all around the island.
There is a nearby store, Gallant's which is only minutes away, and well stocked for most needs including fresh seafood and meat which we purchased several times.
The cottage was an ideal layout for us a family of 4 with kids and Grandma too, whom enjoyed having her own bedroom. The cottage is well stocked for cooking and BBQ, and the screened-in room was perfect for evenings.
The private beach is a short walk under 10 minutes and not at all busy, like most other beaches, ideal for kids with shallow water and nice sand. You can walk quite a distance from end to end.
I would highly recommend this rental, to families looking for a quiet cottage in a beautiful area that is still easily within reach of most places to visit.
Just a 10 to 15 minute drive from all Cavendish tourist attractions, including Cavendish Music Festival, Anne of Green Gables, Shining Waters Family Fun Park, and Sandspit Amusement Park. Only 30 minutes to Charlottetown and city attractions including Province House and theatre shows including Anne of Green Gables.
