Situated between the Delaware River and the Delaware Canal, the setting is stunning from all directions. This is a two bedroom cottage features a large master en suite bedroom which includes a sitting area with a gas fireplace and an attached bedroom and master bath (both tub and shower and two sinks). The spacious guest bedroom is adjacent to the full bathroom with shower. Each bedroom features a queen size bed. Downstairs there is a living room with a large stone wood burning fireplace. Adjacent to the living room is a screened-in porch which is great for entertaining. The porch includes a dining table that can seat up to eight people comfortably, two sofa sitting areas and a serving bar. On the other side of the living room is a dining room adjacent to a well appointed kitchen. Next to the dining room/kitchen is a den with a gas fireplace and entertainment center. Outside the den on the rear of the house is a patio for barbecuing and an evening cocktail. Outside the den on the front of the house is another patio perfect for sunning. Across the lane is a riverfront terrace which features a table and chairs and serving area. From there you can access the river directly via stairs. Behind the house, you can access the canal and tow path directly via stairs. We provide two fishing poles, two bicycles and gear for the kayaks and canoe including life jackets.
There are many people from both New York City and Philadelphia who choose our area for their weekend retreats. As a result, there are many fine restaurants, art galleries, and antique shops that cater to sophisticated interests. Yet the area is casual and very friendly. And forget about the traffic jams so typical of rides to the New Jersey shore and the Hamptons! Even on a Friday evening or Monday morning, your ride back into the city will be less than 90 minutes.
We have kayaks, a canoe, fishing gear, river tubes, bicycles and all the trimmings you need for a riverside retreat.
We are located roughly 15 miles north of New Hope, PA and her New Jersey sister community, Lambertville. Both villages are artist communities rich in culture and live theatre. We are 6 miles south of Frenchtown, NJ where there is great shopping and wonderful places to dine. All along the river are very interesting Inns with vibrant restaurants with interesting food and drink.
The tow path that runs along the Delaware Canal is great for running, hiking and biking and the wildlife is stunning.
