Ideally located Carriage House in the Highlands - Cherokee Triangle – 2 Beds (1 queen, 2 twins) / 1 bath (Partitioned for multiuse) - Includes new appliances, all furnished and nicely decorated - TVs / Cable / Internet / Washer / Dryer / Patio.
Chris and I bought our house in the Highlands of Louisville in January 2014 and we renovated it from top to bottom. Everything in the carriage house is new, from flooring, walls, HVAC, appliances, plumbing and electrical too. We finally furnished it with reclaimed wood furniture to create a cozy and inviting area. We want our guests to feel like this is the space to join a group of friends for a glass of wine or a good meal.
The Carriage House is situated in a pleasant, calm neighborhood with fabulous old oaks and plenty of strolling possibilities. Cherokee Park is just minutes away. Downtown Louisville is only 2 miles away. Please inquire for special rates for monthly rentals.
High speed Internet and cable are provided with WiFi throughout the house. A washer and dryer are available for use on the property. Two comfortable bedrooms and 1 bath accommodate 4 people with ease. It can accommodate up to 6 with available inflatable mattress.
The master bedroom has a queen size bed. The second bedroom has two twin beds. All linens are provided. The bedrooms are bright and airy and perfect for napping, sleeping or reading quietly. Both bedrooms and the living room have ceilings fans.
The bathroom has a 3 way shower system with hand shower and "rain" shower head. The bathroom has a door separating the toilet and shower from the sink so that 2 people can use it simultaneously.
The kitchen is fully equipped with electric stove/ oven, microwave and refrigerator. Pots and pans and cutlery are provided. If you have special needs, let us know and we will try to accommodate. Laundry room is located off of the Kitchen with front load high efficiency washer and dryer for your use.
There is a deck with a view of the back yard with a table for 6 and sitting area. The Carriage House is located above our Garage, when the garage door is operated, it can be heard from above. The garage is used infrequently and the noise from the opener has not been reported as invasive or too loud.
From the street (Cherokee Road), guests will have access to the carriage house via a walkway that runs beside the main house to the backyard all the way to the stairs leading to the carriage house. A gate keeps the entrance to the backyard of the house secured. The gate has a keypad that uses a code to grant access.

The Cherokee Triangle Historic District is a vibrant neighborhood two miles from the center of downtown Louisville. It is considered a part of a larger area of Louisville called The Highlands. Adjacent to a dynamic commercial district, residents are within walking distance of a diversity of coffee shops, restaurants, movie theatre, boutiques, antique stores, and amenities like the hardware store, grocery and book sellers. Mature trees, some one hundred years old, line the streets, providing shade and beauty.
Historic homes reflecting an eclectic mix of architectural styles dot the preservation district. Styles include Italianate, Second Empire, Queen Anne, Richardsonian Romanesque, Neoclassical, Tudor Revival, Beaux Arts, and many more. Nearby, Cherokee Park (designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the designer of New York's Central Park) and Willow Park serve as an urban oasis for bike riding, walking, sledding and picnics.
Begun as an early suburb of Louisville, the Cherokee Triangle reflects the successful efforts of this neighborhood to preserve its thoughtful historic design while still providing a cosmopolitan and forward-thinking place.

Ideal stay for small families.
Leading into our stay, Paulo was very communicative about the property details we needed upon arrival. The property is beautifully and actively maintained, and the courtyard is so peaceful. The carriage house itself was very clean and updated, with many convenient updates to make our stay pleasant. Dishes are more than well-stocked, and extra blankets were provided to really make the stay cozy. The neighborhood itself is lively with endless options for dining out, and a Kroger is a short drive to grab groceries as well! We absolutely loved our stay, and I would recommend this location to anyone headed to Louisville in the future!

Great Accommodations, Great Host!
We felt welcomed, safe, and well cared for from the moment we walked through the gate. The Carriage House had everything we needed and more. It was exceptionally clean, well organized, and loaded with style. The neighborhood was stunning, and the courtyard was relaxing and inviting. We were particularly pleased with the convenient location. We were amazed by the close proximity the Carriage House had to restaurants, sightseeing, and the bourbon trail. We will definitely stay again!

Wonderful property, neighborhood and hosts!
The Carriage House is a clean, well maintained, well thought out and wonderfully furnished property. The deck overlooks a beautifully maintained courtyard area that is shared with the main house. The old trees and furnishings make it such a welcoming area to sit, relax and enjoy your coffee in the morning, or a beverage later in the evening. The hosts go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your stay and have everything you need. You can walk to many local shops and restaurants, and yet is only a few miles from downtown Louisville or Churchhill Downs. Would highly recommend the property and neighborhood.

Best place to stay in Louisville
The Carriage House was ideal- meticulous details, VERY clean and a perfect accommodation for our annual get together. From the Carriage House we were able to walk to a grocery store, great restaurants, parks and shops which were all within close proximity. The area was perfect for early morning running and walks-and we felt completely safe. Paulo and Chris have a beautiful property and every detail was appreciated. They provided clear check-in/out directions- and helpful notes -thank you! We loved everything about this house and would recommend this property to anyone visiting Louisville. As a side note- we did have a rental car and visited the NuLu area restaurant Lou Lou on Market- truly excellent food and the bread pudding- we all thought it was the best ever. If you are looking for a pickle ball court- go to Goodbounce Pickleball Yard.

Chris and Paulo's Carriage House. We are an adventurous and binational couple that loves to travel, host friends, wine and good food (who doesn’t!). We live in the main house of which Carriage House we are renting. We don’t have kids, just nephews that we thoroughly enjoy the company of. Our favorite travel was to Brazil, Australia, Cambodia, Lebanon, France, Argentina and Iceland. We appreciate theater and dance and often attend shows and concerts.
