About this property

Oceanfront Cottage on 2 Acres - 4 Miles to Town!

Enjoy easy living in the northeast as you stay in this 2-bed, 2-bath vacation rental cottage that sleeps 6 in Milbridge! Nestled on 2.5 acres of private land, this home provides a secluded landscape and peaceful respite for many relaxing days spent seaside. Admire the view from a kayak trip across the Narraguagus Bay, or from the comfort of the private wraparound balcony. Whether you're here for a peaceful retreat or family getaway - this cottage on the coast is a must-visit in Maine!

-- THE PROPERTY --

Bedroom 1: Queen Bed | Bedroom 2: Full Bed | Loft: 2 Twin Beds

Take a hike down to the coast where you'll be treated to world-class views of the bay, framed by a granite shoreline dotted with vibrant evergreens. You'll have first-class access to all of Milbridge's best activities - whether it's hiking, biking, kayaking, or learning the art of lobster fishing from the locals!

Spend some downtime inside enjoying nearly 1,500 square feet of modern yet comfortable living space. You can choose to spend the downtime unwinding with a movie on the flat-screen TV, or outside with a pair of binoculars, bird watching on the balcony.

Bring back fresh seafood from Chipman's Wharf to whip up a local favorite right from home. The kitchen is fully equipped with updated appliances and a kitchen island to ensure you'll have plenty of space and amenities to cook with ease.

As you share lobster rolls and clambakes around the dining table, you'll have an unbeatable view through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the coast just outside. If you want a closer look, head out to the wraparound balcony, where panoramic views and the sound of the waves slowly lull you to sleep.

Rest easy on a queen bed in the master bedroom or on a full bed in the second bedroom - each with balcony access to catch the sunrise in the morning. The teens can retreat to their own space in the loft to sleep on one of the 2 twin beds, ensuring that everyone has a restful night before another busy day down by the bay.

-- THE LOCATION --

Just a walk out of the door will bring you to a day spent exploring the great outdoors! Hike the coast, bike through the trails, sunbathe on the beach, or rent a kayak to take out to some of the small offshore islands. Bring the bigger boats along for a trip to Petit Manan Island just outside of the bay.

Don the hiking boots and leave the electronics behind when you visit some of Maine's best national parks less than an hour away from Milbridge. Head to Acadia National Park for acres of prime wildlife spotting and natural monuments, or over to Roque Bluff for a stroll across the Englishman Bay.

Stay local with a 10-minute drive into the charming town of Milbridge. This fishing village exudes a classic small-town east coast character with shops, seafood restaurants, and historical points lining the streets. Head an hour down the coast to Bar Harbor for a big-city experience on the edge of Maine.

Incredible view!
The house was beautiful, well appointed, the only downside was we were about an hour from Bar Harbor & Acadia. As we were on vaca and due to being right on the ocean it was worth it. Being able to hike right outside the cottage was very convenient. We really enjoyed our stay there. It was just my sister & I so there was plenty of room for us. The loft is definitely for teenagers. We are both over 50 and only went up there once to check it out.

Lobster Vacation with Friends
The house is in a beautiful setting at the ocean’s edge. The living area is good size, as well as both downstairs bedrooms. Everything was in working order. I think this home works best for adults and possibly older kids due to some of the railing. It was further from Bar Harbor than we thought but the setting was awesome! We slept well! We loved watching the boats, sunrises, and sunsets!

Stunning sunrises & idyllic cottage
Precisely as described & exactly what we needed. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful location. Walked several times to amazing rocky coast picnic area in McClellan Park. Lovely house with stunning views. Took full advantage of the sprawling deck & scattered benches on the property.

Stay at Granite Shore Milbridge ME
1. The cottage was in a nice quiet location with nice views of the ocean. 2. The beds were comfortable. 3. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pans, etc. 4. The cottage was clean. Negative comments: a. no instructions on how to use the 3 remote controls for the TV (what was the VIZO remote for?) b. the wifi code that was handwritten and faded took several tries to figure out the writing c. the TV room furniture was very uncomfortable d. the utensils and pans had to be re-washed before we used them because there was leftover food/debris on them e. no outside trash barrel for the trash bag when we left...had to leave the trash in bag behind the door f. no information on restaurants in the area g. the floors in the entire cottage made loud cracking noises heard throughout the house when anybody walked on them. Suggestions: Although we received some information/instructions via email prior to arrival, the following would be helpful: **Maintain an organized 3 ring binder that is left on kitchen counter with the following typed informational pages: -WiFi code -how to use the various remotes - where extra keys are to cottage - recommendations for particular restaurants in the area, such as seafood restaurants, family restaurants, etc with phone numbers and locations - sightseeing information - emergency numbers - expectations on what to do before departure i.e. trash (outside trash barrel), laundry. This binder could easily be updated as necessary
