Vineyard Way Casita is a restored adobe with approximately 400 sq ft of indoor living space. It is located in the Historic Downtown area of Bernalillo. It is reported to have been built in the 1880's by the infamous builder Abenicio Salazar and was the first doctor's office in town. We're walking distance to restaurants, unique shops/art galleries/ grocery stores, the Rail Runner & shuttles to two casinos. Casita is a day's drive to many scenic byways including Santa Fe, Taos, Corrales, Jemez, the Sandia Mountains including the world famous tramway; fishing, golf, hiking, biking, the Albuquerque Zoo & Botanical Park, vineyards, breweries, the world renowned balloon park & so much more! Cozy & convenient is how former guests have described the casita.

The casita is very cozy, quaint, functional and quiet. Due to the thick adobe walls, it stays cool in the summer & warm in the winter.

Our comfortable and convenient casita has all new appliances, a heater/refrigerated air combo, hard wood floors, tiled floors in both kitchen and bathroom. It has on demand hot water, a 4 burner electric stove/oven and full refrigerator.

The casita is located just off Main Street, also known as Route 66, Highway 85 and State Road 313. It is quiet, safe and within walking distance to shops, restaurants, parks, the recreation center & the Rail Runner. The Rail Runner will take you to Santa Fe, Albuquerque, the International Airport, Los Lunas & Belen; not to mention the numerous Indian Casinos along the way! Vineyard Way Casita's prime location offers day trips to the Sandia Mountains, seven Indian Pueblos, historic sites and Scenic ByWays, which can take you to Jemez Pueblo & Jemez Springs or Taos and back within a day!

The world famous Range Cafe, is across the street as is Silva's Saloon that has been in continuous operation since the 1930's. Several movies have been shot in its location adding to its allure, history and colorful past! Camino Real Antiques, located just down Main Street, offers 6000 sq ft of treasures, including Native American artifacts and Western memorabilia.

This is the PERFECT place to stay to enjoy Las Fiestas de San Lorenzo in August, the New Mexico Wine Festival over Labor Day weekend and to experinece the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta held in October! The seasonal beauty of New Mexico as well as the stunning backdrop of the Sandia Mountains await you in this cozy adobe casita, offering you an authentic taste of the Land of Enchantment.

Cute studio casita close to Albuquerque!
We had a great time in the Albuquerque area for the Balloon Fiesta and Annular Solar Eclipse! This cute casita was perfect for my husband and I! Fawn sent great instructions for checking in and was very responsive to our request to check out a little later, which allowed us some time to rest after an early morning going to the Balloon Fiesta! There were some nice snacks waiting for us in the casita, which were very much appreciated during our car rides around the area. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends and I would stay again.

Short work trip
Easy to get to. Just north of Albuquerque. Cute little town. The casita was just fine for the 3 nights I was in town. Clean, neat, everything I needed was there. I will stay again, next visit.

I am a Native New Mexican of American Indian & Hispanic descent & I'm part Irish, thus the surname! New Mexico has been my playground for 60+ years. There is still much to discover, so planning a trip to New Mexico for a week or two cannot do justice to all it offers but to be here, for any length of time, is a must! Bernalillo is a rural community that is now surrounded by the metropolitan areas of Albuquerque and Rio Rancho. Bernalillo still has a small town feel to it even though it has grown expotentiallay since we bought the property in 1996. I am personally, professionally & economically vested in the area and love showing & sharing my playground with people who want to experience the Land of Enchantment and its treasures. Antiquing is my hobby. My antique store, Camino Real Antiques, is celebrating its 20th year in business this August & is in walking distance from the casita! I also love fishing, biking, golfing, bowling, dancing and bike riding. All of these activities are available year round in our fair town, city, state.
I have travelled around the world and am always eager to come home to the four seasons, the granduer of the Sandia Mountains, the smell of green chile roasting, the site of hot air balloons and to the simple pleasures of a slower pace. I look forward to sharing my love of New Mexico with you & yours.

Why they chose this property

This property has been in Bernalillo since the 1800's and reflects the simple lifestyle of early residents. We purchased the property in 1996. The previous owners have a long history in Bernaillo and have left a positive mark in the town. Once a doctor's office, then a storage shed, then a beauty shop, it was remodeled in October 2012. Its transformation into a casita is the best use of this space yet. It is welcoming, practical, inviting and affordable. The casita is quiet, safe and while centrally located, you are still set apart from the hubbub of city life. You'll be the envy of all your friends when you book your stay here!

What makes this property unique

As you walk in the front door, its charm welcomes you. Friends & family who have entered the premises sigh a breath of relief just to be in its cool, calm confines. Drop your bags, lay on the bed & kick your feet up. There are NO distractions from relaxing! Walk downtown to shops & restaurants, hop on the Rail Runner, or jump in your car and head north, south, east or west on the interstate or on any number of scenic byways! You are on your way to exploring Sandoval County & more.
