Wonderful location - lots of space, lots of relaxation!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was a stellar experience. We had multiple families with multiple kids each, and everyone had plenty of space - both for people to get their quiet time and for groups gathering together .

There are porches galore, a deck by the Toccoa, a professional kitchen (inside) and grill (outside), and a fire pit big enough for a dozen people to roast marshmellows without crowding. The hosts - Neil and Neil Sr - are wonderful. They were more than happy to talk with those of us who wanted to know more about the area (and their horses, goats and chickens) but also gave the group plenty of time and space to just enjoy ourselves.

There are HD LCD's all throughout the bedrooms and common rooms, and a blu-ray/dvd player hooked up to the projector in the theater room. The hot tub is also spacious and enjoyable, located next to the theater room. The parents could relax in the jacuzzi while kids watched movies just inside.

Can't wait for our next visit - a truly wonderful vacation!

Great Family Getaway Weekend at Bucks River Lodge

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful house with its riverfront location and quiet, peaceful setting, provided our family of 10 one of the best getaway weekends we've ever had. The house is very spacious and provides at least 5 different eating areas so we had coffee by the river, afternoon wine and cheese on the back deck, outdoor grilled dinner on another area of the deck overlooking the river, another dinner in the dining room, and breakfast off the kitchen surrounded by floor to ceiling windows. We thoroughly enjoyed the movie room and late night shuffleboard competition followed by a soak in the large hot tub. Our little 2 year old granddaughter delighted in feeding the chickens who came visiting on the front porch, and couldn't wait to pet the goats and miniature horse. The house was very close to Ingles grocery store and town so we could get there in about 10 minutes. The house was very clean and well cared for. We'd love to come back and highly recommend it.
