My home and rentals are situated on a hill with expansive views overlooking the colonial town of Alamos and the more distant mountains of the Sierra Madre. The property consists of a two story 'Casa Grande' and a smaller Casita. You have the opportunity to rent one or two bedrooms on the first floor of the Casa Grande (VRBO listing # 567811) and have full access to a living, dining room and kitchen. The Casita offers privacy, with one bedroom, two bathrooms and a living/dining room area plus kitchen. At times the Owner's Unit is available, a one bedroom apartment on the second floor of the Casa Grande. The views from this property are spectacular! Relax with a book on one of the patios or swim in the large solar heated pool.
The property is fenced and gated providing security and ample parking for your car. A five minute walk takes you to the cobblestone streets and historic buildings of the Plaza de Armas. There your will find restaurants featuring famous Sonoran food, artesan shops to browse, a lovely colonial church, and a fascinating museum depicting life in Alamos during the 17th and 18th centuries. Stroll these streets or book a birding tour, a rafting trip down the Rio Mayo river or go horseback riding and explore the surrounding countryside. Stop by the five star Hacienda de Los Santos for a glass of tequila, a meal, or a visit to their spa. Return home for a drink on the patio viewing the sunset over the mountains and the twinkling lights of the city.
Alamos is a 17th Century Mexican Colonial town in the foothills of the Sierra Madre Mountains. Our home is situated on a hill overlooking the magical pueblo of Alamos, and looking off to the foothills of the Sierras, the vistas extend for hundreds of miles.
Five minutes' walk down the hill, you will find yourself on the cobblestone streets of the historic Plaza de Armas where you can feast your eyes on buildings exhibiting the classic architecture from Mexico's Colonial period. Restaurants featuring famous Sonoran
food await as you stroll the streets and gaze at the restored mansions built hundreds of years ago by the great silver barons who made their fortunes in Alamos and the smaller, nearby town of Aduana.
