The front porch offers morning sun, the upper deck with barbecue and dining set offers sun until late in the evening, and the lower patio offers cool afternoon shade and breezes. The 4 queen bedrooms (and small open area for extra sleeping space) are comfortable, the linens fresh. The 2 kitchens are exceptionally well equipped with both gas and electric appliances. A few steps from the lower floor takes you to the beach, dock, picnic, and campfire area. Please note: when searching for our rates, you need to select Can dollars at the top right of the page. The four owners, all siblings, have spent a life-time of summers enjoying all that Jewel Lake has to offer. One of the owners lives on the property a distance from the rental home. We are all committed to ensuring that your vacation brings you as much pleasure as we have enjoyed these many years.
Ann Skelcher purchased this estate in 2000
Our home and this estate were passed down to us from our Aunty Win. Throughout the house, you will see pictures of her, her dogs, and tributes to her beloved Jewel Lake. Aunty Win loved the lake's tranquility - as does all the family. Younger members of our family love the activity provided - hiking, swimming, cycling, bird watching, boating. The size of the home and property make it the perfect place for multiple generations to come together and enjoy the many treasures offered here.
While you will appreciate 'being away from it all' on this very private property on Jewel Lake, a short distance away is the Christina Lake Golf Course, antique shops, restaurants, exquisite coffee shops/bakeries, and museums. You can take a sightseeing trip into the US, crossing at Midway only 20 min. down the road. We also like to plan a trip into Osoyoos (1.5 hr. west) to visit some of the best wineries in BC.
Unpacked and immediately made food for the hummingbird feeders. We've enjoyed watching them all week. This is our third stay here and "Win's" home is really a treasure. We value every minute of just relaxing, we appreciate every comfort that is available just for guests and fromm Wayne's perspective the ease of pulling his boat right up to the dock and jumping in at any time to go out fishing! Ann & Dan - Thank you seems to be enough…THANK YOU for sharing this unique home!
This vacation far exceeded my expectations! The home is lovely and Jewel Lake is just that-a Jewel. But what was most wonderful was the memorabilia around the home and the story of those who built and made Kingfischer Cove what it is. The owners are wonderful and we would be thilled to spend more time here. Thank you.
The house and property is an ideal location to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. We brought some SUPs and tied floaties to the dock to enjoy the quiet lake which was really fun. The huge deck is perfect for morning coffees right through to evening drinks under the stars.
Our stay was not long enough and we can't wait to go back. Highly recommend!
We just LOVED our first stay at Kingfisher Cove! Beautiful, peaceful, quiet and super relaxing. Perfect place to reconnect as a family, soak in the gorgeous surroundings, and just BE. Our activities included fishing, canoeing and exploring some very nice hiking and biking trails. The house is very well equipped and comfortable, and our hosts very welcoming and helpful. Cannot wait for our next visit!
Our extended family loved the place. Pretty unique to have a house as is with the family history and extensive library there to share for everyone to experience.
Great hiking trails and lake access is awesome.
If you're looking for a nice break off the beaten trail this is a great choice.
My wife and I with our dog spent five wonderful days at Kingfisher Cove over the July 1st weekend. The house is quite large with many windows to let in an abundance of natural light. It is situated on the east side of Jewel Lake, surprisingly on a large private wooded property. We spent each evening on the deck overlooking the lake until the sun set. Seeking peace and quiet, that is exactly what we got.
My husband and I have had the opportunity to travel all over the world and jewel lake was one of our best holidays. Quiet and serene. The house is simply amazing and has all the comforts you could ever want. We can't wait to go back as it was such a special place.
Jewel Lake is nestled in a mountains valley. In summer, the nights are cool and the days are warm. Your days can be full of activity or serene and restful.
The lake is plentifully stocked with hungry rainbow and brook trout. The resident loons will serenade you as you canoe, kayak, or quietly motor on the lake.
The local trails provide a variety of hikes. For bike enthusiasts, local lake trails connect to the Kettle Valley Railway Trail. Your bike trip can end in GrandForks at the Station Pub - especially if you have pick-up driver to take you back to Jewel Lake.
Nearby Greenwood offers two great bakery/coffee shops, antique shops, and a good restaurant - the Pacific Grill.
