Nyali Ocean View Apartment

This magnificent apartment is located breaths away from the Indian Ocean and the pristine white sandy beaches of Mombasa. It's in Nyali, Links Road, 3rd avenue, a few blocks away from City Mall, which is among the most prestigious locations in Mombasa. There are also plenty of fun activities around Nyali such as go-karting, boat riding, snorkeling, surfing, sky diving, scuba diving, nature trails, and many more.

The space:
The furnished apartment has a large banquet sized kitchen, sitting room, 2 bedrooms and 1 studio, all en-suite. The studio is self-contained with its own kitchen. The apartment block also has a large rooftop viewing deck with sweeping 360-degree views of the Indian ocean. There is also a brand new private swimming pool within the compound. The property is guarded by security guards 24/7 and there is plenty of parking spaces available.

Guest access:
Guests are allowed full access to the apartment. They are free to invite friends over and have all the freedom, like their own home away from home. There is also an expansive view deck on the top floor with breathtaking views of the beach and Indian Ocean.

Unique Benefits:
What is truly unique about my home is it's unique architectural design with a bias for natural all-round lighting, let in by large floor to ceiling glass windows and sliding doors. It is also high enough (4th floor) to allow the natural breeze from the Indian Ocean to cool you down during the very hot seasons. At the roof top, there is an expansive view deck, accessed by all residents/guests, that has lovely views of the Indian Ocean. It has it's own washrooms so you don't have to interrupt your views by rushing back to your house to answer nature calls. There is also a swimming pool with free access to all guests and residents. The close proximity to premier shopping malls, restaurants, and the beach make this a sought-after location. The road leading to the apartment is paved, lined with trees and streetlights.

The neighborhood:
Beautiful coral stones, tree-lined paved roads, new-world architecture, proximity to the Indian Ocean, white sandy beaches and the City Mall make this a sought-after location. There are also plenty of restaurants and coffee bars all a walking distance away. For those who love the night-life, trendy clubs and hang-out joints abound.

Interaction with guests:
I will be available for help at any time when the need arises. As a backup, we have a caretaker at hand including a cleaner and cook on request for any assistance you need.

The apartment is nice in a close proximity to shopping and mall, but is very poorly maintained. All showers rusted from salty Mombasa water. We had only one shower working in this 3 bedroom apt. No hot water either. Wouldn't recommend anyone to stay in this particular apartment. Also, the owner uses electricity token where he has to add money if power goes off. Had to call him twice during our 3 night stay after power went off at night. I wouldn't want anyone to go through what my family and I went through.

Why they chose this property

My purchase decision for this apartment was to have a holiday home away from my current residence in Nairobi that is also good enough to share with guests seeking accommodation in Mombasa. The apartment is like my second home and I have gone out of my way to furnish it and ensure that my guests feel like it is their home too. It's prime location was also top to the purchase decision-making, with close proximity to shopping centers, cinemas, restaurants and the beach. The road to the apartment is paved and well lit by street lights during the night. The apartment is located in Mombasa; which is Kenya's second largest city with a large port and international airport. It is a very ancient and historic town, dating back to the 1500's. The first European to visit was Vasco da Gamma in the late 1400's. Evidence of Mombasa's rich history are scattered in and around the town with numerous ruins such as Old Town, Fort Jesus, Gede Ruins, Vasco da Gamma Pillar etc. Mombasa city is a pleasant place to visit if you want to go back in time and enjoy a history lesson from local tour guides/community members.
