Full bathroom upstairs newly remodeled and full bath down. Queen air mattress for living room. Living room has fireplace, pellet stove, 46' LCD television with Directv and Blu-ray DVD player plus all leather furniture. Wi-Fi to use your laptop, tablet, phone or stream free movies. Washer and Dryer. 10 foot oversized picnic table for outdoor dining. Gas grill. Sit on the deck and just watch the world go by as the deer, bear, marmots, chipmunks, coyotes, blue jays and rabbits stroll/fly by observing you.

Short walk from town and many opportunities to play and enjoy the great outdoors. A 10-15 minute walk puts you in the heart of Lake City where you can dine, shop, go to theaters, play in the park, or enjoy worship at one of 4 churches. Many local events like bingo and guided historic walks await you.

Some of the best 4 wheel drive roads in the state await your exploration. The Alpine Loop is one of the most scenic drives in the state. Approximately 1/2 mile to start of Alpine Loop. May drive ATV's from cabin to , and around , Alpine Loop. Slumgullion Pass to Creede is to die for beauty in the fall for Aspen viewing, not that it isn't wonderful in the summer. ATV's and trail bikes have endless opportunities to see new locales.

If Lake San Cristobal is to large for you, there are a multitude of small lakes to hike to to test your fishing prowess, or to just enjoy while picnicking.

Awesome location
The view was amazing. We loved how we could see the wildlife right out the back door, yet we 10 minute walk into town. We were able to ride our side by side from our front door to the trails every day. I would definitely recommend staying here.

The best house with the best views!
We love staying at this house. It has the best porch and the most hospitable owners. We have stayed here multiple times and enjoyed it each time. It’s clean, homey, fully stocked with everything you could possibly needed and a great location close to town.

Private , but close to town.
We Enjoyed the location. You can drive or walk 10 or 15 minutes to the bakery / Grocery store or town. WE had regular visits from 3 bucks daily. They looked up at us on the porch. Bring food only. The house has everything you need such as games, abundant kitchen ware, coffee pots, gas grill, firepit etc. We loved our stay. Porch is fenced with a gate if you have a child or dog.

Bear Bungalow
Very happy. Lots of wild life but no bears. Unusually hot week in Lake City and wished for better ventilation. Needs proper window fans. Not just box fans. If it was normal hemps wouldn’t have been a problem. Also house needs a bigger trash can. With family of 8 hard to squeeze our trash in

Retired 'Papa' and Grandma of six kids and ten grand-kids. Papa is a retired Denver Public Schools administrator and Grandma is retiree . All our kids virtually grew up spending their summers in Lake City living in this home and have gone on to successful careers in Colorado and each still gets to the cabin several times a year. My new grand-kids sitting in front of the fireplace giggling make it all worth while. Many happy memories of all seasons for our family at this wonderful home away from home. I hope you'll leave with family memories of your own.

Why they chose this property

Great Views from the new oversized for socializing front deck, new deck across back of house with ramps. Fire pit with wood provided for s'mores or singing Kum-Bye-Yah. Great fishing, hiking, 4-wheeling, snow activities, hunting, and adventurous activities. Close to charming, historic Lake City, yet in forested area. Room to spread out without neighbors right on top of you. Comfortable walking and biking distance to town and all it's amenities. ATV access to Alpine Loop and plenty of parking for trailers and vehicles.

What makes this property unique

The view is second to none in the Lake City area. 1 acre property for kids to roam and play safely. Three playgrounds in town and completely safe for kids to wander and play. The 2nd largest lake in the state is only 5 miles away for boating, fishing, and swimming for the brave at heart!
