About the property

3 Bedrooms (Upstairs) Stair lift for those needing it.

Location: Ocean Park, Long Beach Peninsula, Washington State, USA (Only 2 1/2 Hours Drive from Portland, OR)

About a 4 block walk or ride from the house to the beach!

This house has 1000 sf, with 3 upstairs bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms (1 with a deep Jacuzzi), living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, and a 2 unit laundry area. You'll be all set to enjoy your vacation in a house that offers enough room to spread out and relax while not feeling cramped. We wanted this to feel like a 'home away from home' and I think we've succeeded. This is a kid friendly home and will accommodate a large gathering of adults as well.

Large parties who are staying overnight, may also wish to rent the trailer that is located at the far end of the driveway. It is fully functional for sleeping and has three different sleeping surfaces and restroom facilities. Ask about this addition.

Our main living area was designed with an open feeling. We have installed a three piece sectional and have two recliners for your comfort. We have installed a stair lift to the second floor for our mobility challenged guests for comfortable bedroom access.

The living room, dining room, and kitchen all flow together but are also distinctly separate rooms. The dining room has a large table (approx 8 foot in length) for those really large family meals and games. We have a supply of card and board games for your use as well as a library of over 200 movies. The house has internet capability so you can use your Netflix account or others like Hulu to view movies.

The house has central air heating and a pellet stove if you desire to have a more romantic evening in front of the 43 inch HD television. We also have a stereo system there along with DVD and VHS players and a library of items for your use.

The house has a 50 gallon hot water heater and an additional 300 gallon water tank, so plan accordingly if you have additional visitors. The closet downstairs and the upstairs bathroom has plenty of extra towels and bedding for your use.

Our kitchen is fully equipped with an electric range/oven, George Forman grill, microwave, sink (with filtered water), refrigerator, and dishwasher. It also has pots/pans, baking dishes, waffle iron, crock pot, toaster, blender, milk shake maker, vacuum sealer and coffee maker. We don't miss a beat when we cook in this kitchen and we're sure you won't either.

There is a large storage closet where we house extra blankets, towels and supplies for the bedrooms.

Upstairs, the master bedroom has a queen sized bed with television and DVD player and is located next to the master bath with Jacuzzi. A large closet that holds extra sleeping mats, portable heaters, fans and plenty of room for hanging up your clothes.

Right next door is the king size bedroom which also has room to toss down a mattress or sleeping mat if desired and has a television with DVD player. The closet in this room has additional sleeping mats and blankets for your use.

Both of these bedrooms have recliners for relaxing in solitude if wanted.

The loft bedroom has two single beds and a toddler bed along with a desk area for the children to sit at, as well as two soft seating units. This room also has a 42 inch screen and VHS capability (we have a library of over 100 children's items you may use) and many games for the children.

We do have two additional, single mattresses, plus two folding camping pads that we throw on the floor for those times when we have 'extra' kids. I am not sure that happens to you, but it happens to us all the time! The upstairs bathroom is stocked with additional sheets for all of the beds.

The attached garage has a half bath, bar-b-que, clam tubes, children's toys, kites and a chest freezer for your “catch of the day” as well as a utility area that has two washers and two dryers for those times you get a little wetter at the beach than you had planned. . . . . . . .

Outside, in the front is a covered porch with a fenced front yard for those times you wish to just sit out and enjoy the solitude. There are chairs and tables on each side for relaxing outdoors or if you wish to eat outside in a covered area. (Total of 4 chairs & 2 tables)

We have installed a separate smoking/fish hut with running water and a fish/clam cleaning station for your convenience as well as an external shower nozzle where you can wash the sand off your feet before entering the house. There is also a fixed ashtray in there by the seats for those that wish to light up. An additional receptacle is located near the garage door to keep cigarette butts from being deposited in the driveway gravel.

The extra wide graveled driveway has ample parking accommodations for multiple vehicles and an RV!! We have power and water available for your RV guests and the RV unit that is on-site is available for rental as an additional sleeping space as well. There is also a wheelchair friendly ramp which leads to the entry door of the house.

When entering the house, be sure to shake any sand off of your shoes on the floor grate at the front door, otherwise, we recommend sweeping daily as the sand finds it's way in on a regular basis.

The large back yard has two separate fire pits and picnic tables with plenty of outside seating space and we have another picnic table under the car port for your use or to sit out and be covered during rainy weather.

There is also a horse shoe pit for your use. Horse shoes are located in the garage next to the dart board. Foam covers have been placed on each one of the horse shoe rings to insure that no one hurts themselves.

$100.00 cleaning fee (house)

$50.00 cleaning fee (trailer) + $30.00 per night use

$200.00 Refundable damage deposit

One half due at booking as deposit; balance due 20 days prior to check-in (damage deposit will be held and returned upon inspection).

There are no refunds within 30 days of the rental, however, if I can rent it after your cancellation, I will refund the difference.

Great place but not very clean

  • 3 of 5

We had a great time here, and lots of amenities that we needed. Just wish it was clean. The dishes in the kitchen and blankets creeped me out. The floors had particles all over them when walking barefooted - when we entered; not after we may have tracked anything in. The bathroom doors didn't have locks and one of the couches was a challenge to sit on, let alone sleep on. The seats of that couch were worn out so drastically that we could feel the metal structure of the couch. One of us had to sit in a kitchen table chair - which are folding chairs. Oh, the third bedroom has a step down inside the door; it would be a good idea to place red tape or paint on that step rim so that someone doesn't hurt themselves. One of us fell, but didn't get hurt. We had a great time. The place sleeps 6 comfortably, but more than that would be for kids.

Owner's Response: We found that the door sweeps were pretty worn and that dust and particles were blowing in from underneath and the floors showed that. Dishes are a bit harder, it has not been our habit to go through all of the dishes that our renters use, wash and put away. We are looking for a method to insure this doesn't happen again. We have replaced the sofa's with a sectional unit that we hope will be more comfortable for our clients. We have altered the step down for the loft bedroom with led lights inserted down below for easier entrance. Locks on doors, we do not offer this any longer as in the past, clients have locked themselves out of the area and it creates a huge problem for them gaining access. The kitchen now has a longer table and regular dining chairs. Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your issues. Wishing you the best in the future.

Quiet and close to it all

  • 5 of 5

The place actually looks darker and smaller in the photos than in person, there was plenty of room for all of us to visit (5 adults, 2 teens, and 1 child) to play a few board games (lots to choose from at the rental), and be around family while making your meals. The location is perfect for those who want to be close to everything but not in the center of it all, very quiet neighborhood. Darlene was very helpful and quick to respond to questions we had. We rented out the trailer so Grandma could have her own room this worked out perfect for our family, everything was very clean and comfortable. Thank you for sharing your home we had a great time at the Kite Festival!!

Great place!

  • 4 of 5

We had a family reunion in this area and this was in the perfect location. We actually ended up having a very casual wedding and reunion potluck here. There was plenty of outdoor space to accommodation our celebrations.

Just a side note, the pictures on VRBO are exactly how the place is. We were concerned for a minute because we looked at it on Google Maps. After seeing some pictures of a very trashy place, I contacted the owner Darlene and voiced my concerns. It seems Google pictures were taken prior to Darlene and Bob tooking over ownership and cleaned it up.

Speaking of the owners, From early on in trip planning to check out day, Darlene was always very responsive and very helpful with any questions or concerns.

I fully recommend this property and would stay again if ever in the area.
