About this property

Uncle Maura's House

Las Mestas is a farmhouse of the Hurdes, with 26 inhabitants in winter, autumn and spring. In summer 200 inhabitants between the tourist and relatives of our ancestors. Las Hurdes is now fashionable, has been and is the great unknown of Extremadura, even for Extremadura themselves. It seems that there was a black legend about Las Hurdes and the famous film director (Viridiana, Land Without Pan) got people to not want Las Hurdes, a strange thing, that even Unamuno loved these Lands, King D. Alfonso XIII, Fray Luis De Leon, San Francisco de Asis, etc. The hermitages and the Monastery of Las Batuecas, the natural pools (the pools of Batuecas), the caves of the Neolithic and Chalcolithic of Las Batuecas, La Alberca, Peña de Francia, etc. The waterfall of Ovejuela, the Chorro de El Gasco, the Meander of Riomalo, the abandoned slate town of Riomalo de Arriba, the volcano of Las Hurdes, etc.

Sencillamente Espectacular
