The Brass Bed Guestroom is a studio apartment in the basement of our turn-of-the-century “salt box” style home in the residential part of Capitol Hill. It has been recently renovated to provide all the amenities to make your stay comfortable. The queen-size bed plus a sleeper sofa can easily accommodate 1-4 persons (children should be 7 years of age or older).See 'Notes' under Rates for addition charge for more than two guests.
In addition to the sofa and several side chairs, the living room area has a 60” HDTV with a high-definition cable connection including a premium line of channels, a Blu Ray player with built-in wifi to stream a full range of Netflix movies and Pandora music selections all at no extra cost. High-speed Internet (WiFi) is also provided at no extra cost. Enjoy the designated work/study space that has a built-in desk and overhead lighting for your laptop.
The large kitchen is in a separate room. It has a full-size gas range and refrigerator, microwave oven (with popcorn) and dining table that can comfortably seat four. You’ll have a coffeepot (with fresh regular or decaf coffee ground to your taste), teapot (with a selection of teas), toaster and all the pots, pans, dishes, glassware and utensils you might need. We also provide an ironing board, iron, hair dryer and even a couple of umbrellas should you get an opportunity to experience Seattle’s liquid sunshine.
The bathroom has a full-size tub with a shower and a ceiling heater for added comfort. All the necessary towels and linens are included.

We have designed our backyard to provide a great place to relax and entertain. There’s plenty of seating area, a BBQ, large table with an umbrella and a big fish pond with a water feature to provide a peaceful ambience. A table-top propane heater is available for chilly evenings.
While on-street parking is generally available, our driveway will easily accommodate your car at no additional cost. A private side entrance with a keypad lock affords easy access and security. A few stairs take you to the actual entrance of the apartment with its own entry door. With respect to security, we have a centrally monitored security and fire detection system.
Public transportation is one block away. The #49 Metro bus will take you to the Capitol Hill business and entertainment district, to downtown Seattle and north to the University of Washington. This bus also connects you to nearly all parts of Seattle’s metropolitan area and even to the airport via our new light rail “Link” system. If you are flying into Seattle, the Link and the Metro bus provide door-to-door service to the Brass Bed Guestroom. Walking, biking and maybe one of the many daily rentable cars are other good transportation options. And how about a water taxi to West Seattle for fish and chips and a volleyball game on the beach, or a ferry ride to Vashon Island or to the San Juan Islands, or even an overnight getaway to Victoria in British Columbia?
The Brass Bed Guestroom (BBG) is part of a 1907 privately owned home that has been completely renovated and remodeled. It is ideally located in Seattle’s distinctive and popular Landmark District – a perfect combination of commercial and residential properties. Access to Capitol Hill's business district and all that Seattle's downtown area has to offer is right at your fingertips by foot, bicycle, bus or car.
