About Ron Finn

I grew up in Austin, TX and graduated from UT Austin as a Petroleum Engineer. This home represents many happy memories – large family reunions, friends lounging by the pool, BBQ weekends, and peaceful evenings gazing at stars while warming by an open fire pit. There is nothing quite like the country air and a dose of Mother Nature to bring about a sense of peace and well-being. The landscape has much to view of Texas Hill Country. Some are even intrigued by nearby President Bush’s “Western” White House.

Ron Finn purchased this farmhouse in 1996

Why Ron Finn chose Valley Mills

Secluded and peaceful. Located halfway between Austin and Dallas Ft Worth, east of Waco.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Peacefull nights, fresh air, and a starry sky make this an interesting retreat for family and friends to connect. Pool days and nights, family meals, and board games make for a family vacation to remember.

Unforgettable house

  • 5 of 5

The house was amazing!!! The whole ranch feel was unforgettable!!! Lot of space!! To bad the pool wasn’t available. But we loved our stay at the wonderful and comfy house!!! For the first time in a long time, we had a wonderful Thanksgiving with the every spacious kitchen. Everyone cooked. All 18 people where able to eat the the same time together!!!!

Ron was VERY helpful w/pricing/Stairs dangerously tall/Sheets & Mattresses need attention

  • 3 of 5

We appreciated Ron working with this small non-profit on the pricing for our extended rental. Don was very helpful on site. The house had the room we needed and was very functional. Property was well cared for, pretty and peaceful. Overall, the house was good with some exceptions:

*Height of steps, and they're everywhere, needs to be very clear in description of house. *Some of the steps are dangerously too high and poorly lit.

*There were always small worms on the floor - always - and everywhere. Always had to watch where we stepped. The worm situation was more than just "country living".

*Showers were difficult as the water could not be adjusted correctly and the large bathroom shower head pointed at the wall and could not be moved so one had to literally plaster themselves against the shower wall to use the shower

*Small bathroom off the kitchen was better with water direction, but shower area was very dark

*Lighting throughout the house needs to be better - especially around the steep stairs, closets, bedside.

*Sheets did not stay on the bed due to age

*Most mattresses were in poor condition

*Kitchen / dining space was comfortable and great for our group to sit down to a meal together!

*Enjoyed backyard space and the lap pool was a great plus!

It was so beautiful and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We brought 14 ladies down from the DFW for our 1st annual ladies retreat and it was amazing! The property was beautiful and we had such a great time in the quietness of the country. We would definitely recommend checking out this property for your large group outings.

We absolutely loved this place! It's a perfect place for getting away from it all.

  • 5 of 5

We loved the huge ranch house - plenty of room for a large group, especially the huge kitchen/dining/living room area. The caretaker was great to work with and even provided free entertainment by letting us city girls feed the cows. A few things that really do need fixing: shower in the main bathroom, some loose sink faucets, extra lamps in bedrooms would be nice, and... find a home for that beautiful but pesky cat! We loved the pool and also made use of the fire pit. Lovely sitting out under the stars in the evenings. Thanks, Forever Family Ranch! We'd love to come back sometime!
