About Cindy Storie-Soth

We are a Canadian / German family living in the beautiful Cowichan Valley for over 10 years. We were drawn to the valley because of it's beautiful nature, the diversity of it's culture and the healthy lifestyle it provides.

Cindy Storie-Soth purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Cindy Storie-Soth chose Cowichan Bay

Ten years ago we built our log home and two years ago we completed our log cabin vacation rental. Located on 1.5 acres, bordering parkland and close to the beach our home and vacation rental cabin provide beauty, quiet and the serenity of nature.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My wife, 6 month old and I spent 5 nights in this gorgeous log cabin. Cindy and Mandfred were friendly hosts and accommodated our needs. The cabin is beautiful, comfortable and well equipped. We managed to do all our meals using the small kitchenette & the BBQ. The location is good for exploring the Cowichan Valley/Shawnigan Lake area and in a nice quiet area - very peaceful with the woods at your door. We were able to come and go as we please. We'd definitely look at going back on our next visit to the area.

Always wonderful

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed a few times before, and it is always a relaxing stay. We appreciated the addition of the stove ring and griddle. Though we did not use them, it is nice to know they are an option for us. Thank you!

This is a wonderful get away in a beautiful area of Vancouver Island.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 3 nights in December. Actually over Christmas. I would love to come back and explore the area in the summer or fall. Everything was closed when we were there. The cabin is quite cozy, with a wood burning fireplace. We ate simply and just appreciated the quiet. We took several hikes in the area too.

The cabin was lovely, the area absolutely beautiful.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time, it was a truly relaxing and fun time. The cabin is private, and out kind hosts gave us the space we needed. The cabin is so cute and was tastefully decorated for the holidays which made us quite happy. The wood burning fireplace was a treat. The kitchen is quite small, but was fine for preparing charcuterie and all the dishes and towels you need are provided. The incredible bathtub more than makes up for the lack of kitchen space. And the king size bed is luxurious! The cut out from bath to bedroom is so charming.

We loved our stay. Thank you!

Fantastic!!!! Beautiful, Peaceful and Lovely Cottage

  • 5 of 5

My Girlfriend and i enjoyed our 1 week stay at this beautiful Place. A Better place to relax we couldn´t find!!!

Great Location, a lot of hiking trails around it and nice places to go: like Mt.-Tszahalem or the awesome Kinsol Trestle Brigde.

The Bed was so confy and the shower and bathtube so nice. All in all a it is worth to stay here. The Deck and the near to the forrst is so peaceful. We cooked on the Grill and spent a great time here. In 5 Min by foot you are at the sea and we couds see the seals in the Evening at the beach.

We will come back deffnetly. The owners are super friendly and lovely.

Nothing to complane any time again.

Cindy and Manfred we will come again:) Thank you for all. Take care and have a great time.

Log cabin bliss

  • 5 of 5

A delightful and peaceful cabin where we enjoyed two nights. The artistic finishing touches create a wonderful space. Super comfortable (and huge) bed, big tub to soak in whilst looking out at the night sky. A small but well equipped kitchen and really appreciated the delicious coffee provided. Beautiful surrounding area to explore. Thank you!

Wonderful little hide-a-way!

  • 4 of 5

Right in the woods with a great hike path behind the cottage, 5 minute walk to s little beach to sit and watch the seals. I had a dog and she loved the outdoor time. There is a bbq and a covered outdoor deck as well as a fire pit in the yard. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom with the claw foot tub is really a highlight. Yes, the kitchen area is small with only a bar fridge and toaster oven but we visited so many wonderful wineries and bakeries near by that we had small meals of charcutterie and cheese so no need for cooking. The owners are very hospitable and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again.
