Very clean, comfortable and private lake cabin
We loved staying at this cabin. It was very clean, comfortable, private and in a beautiful location on a small lake. There was plenty of room for our party of 3. We had hoped to use the kayaks but ran out of time. If we return to the area we will definitely try to stay here again.

Rustic Chic
Well off "beaten path", which gives it peace and quiet. Even so, Tahquamenon Falls, Grand Marais, Seney Wildlife Reserve, and Toonerville Trolley are all withing an hour's drive. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. We felt though that Kleenex and shower soap would have been welcome. I would note that, with only one bathroom, the cabin was just right for us, but filling out the sleeping capacity of up to 9 people could be problematic.

Nice cabin - If you like mosquitoes and heat
This cabin has strengths and areas that we think need improvement. Strengths: Near a small pond, well stocked kitchen, very clean and tidy, Pleanty of room for parking and assorted games inside. Weaknesses: Beds in the two main floor bedrooms are full size. We ended up sleeping in separate rooms because the beds are so small. There is no AC, which I can understand because it typically doesn't get very warm in the summer. It did for us - mid to upper 80's which led to a high temp in the cabin of 79F. Not totally unbearable, but also absolutely not comfortable. There are fans available but only helped a little. Being a cabin owner and renter ourselves, we give guests discounts when the AC is non-functional and things become uncomfortable. I think the owner in this case should have offered some type of discount. The worst part were the mosquitoes. There were literally 150-200 perched on my bedroom window first thing in the morning. They were everywhere. We had to run from the cabin to our vehicle to avoid being attacked by them and had about 30 of them in our vehicle after quickly throwing everying in our vehile on departure day. The owner really needs to take some type of action to mitigate them for guests. A treatment or even several bug zappers on the porch and in the driveway would be helpful. You can't enjoy the porch or firepit because there are so many. There's no point in touting the outside of the house if you can't enjoy it because of the mosquitoes.
