WALK TO EVERYTHING IN PAIA TOWN!
The setting is just stunning! Enter the back gate, and the first view looking through the glass door, across the entry area, and beyond the patio is of the ocean framed by palm trees, and the sandy beaches of Paia, Baldwin and Spreckelsville. The property is fenced and lined with vegetation on both sides to provide great privacy. It sits at the end of a little laneway, WALKING distance to all of the shops and restaurants in Paia. Sitting between the house and the ocean is a 50 foot lap pool and a hot-tub. NOTE: The ocean is rocky in front of the house, and therefore NO ocean access from the property.
All rooms with the exception of the play room and the 4th bedroom face directly to the ocean!
The ground level has a master suite facing out to the ocean, with a large bathroom (shower). There is a very well equipped kitchen, large living area, and of course, views from all rooms. The ground level has polished concrete floors.
The second level has three bedrooms with king, king, queen beds (two face to the ocean) and a playroom (2 twin beds). There are two full bathrooms on the upper level.

This property has a vacation rental permit issued by the County of Maui, and is subject to the rules and restrictions imposed by the County for all short term rental homes. Please understand that we would be unable to accept a rental that does not agree to abide by these rules. Note: properties without a short term rental permit are subject to closure by the County.
1. Neighbors - Please be considerate of our neighbors. Noise carries easily to their homes, particularly in the evening. NO loud music, NO parties, NO amplified sound of any nature at any time. Many neighbors must be up early in the morning to go to work, and it’s important that your use of this property does not impact them in any way.
2. Quiet Hours - Quiet time is from 9pm to 8am.
3. Use of the Property - Additional friends/family CANNOT be invited to the property and it cannot be used as a “meeting place”. The property can be used ONLY by the guests listed on the rental agreement. The County law allows us to accommodate a maximum of two guests x the number of bedrooms.
4. Parking - There is plenty of parking on the property. Vehicles CANNOT be parked on the street at any time. When vehicles are on the street, there is insufficient space for emergency vehicles, fire trucks, the trash truck or neighbors to get down the road.
Additional information with respect to care and maintenance of the house will be included in the rental agreement.
Paia is a fun, funky, surf town on the North Shore of Maui. The perfect location if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the south shore, but still be close enough to get there quickly. Paia has some of Maui's best shops (no chain stores here), and great restaurants. Mama's Fish House is in Paia, and Haliimaile General Store is just up the hill.

Cleaning - our housekeepers will prepare the house for your arrival, and clean again after your departure. Cleaning is available during your visit at your expense.
Check-in time - 3:00pm or later
Check-out time - 10:00am or earlier
Minimum stay - 7 nights (14 nights over most Holidays)
Maximum Occupancy - Makani Akau limits occupancy to six guests (including children).
Rates are subject to change until confirmation is issued.
Deposit: 2 nights (check, VISA/MC, or wire transfer) and completed rental agreement
Final payment: due 60 days prior to arrival.
If cancellation is more than 60 days prior to arrival, the two night deposit is forfeited. If cancellation is within 60 days of arrival date, all payments are forfeited, unless the space is re-rented.
