About Vacasa, CA - Lake Tahoe Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Great layout for groups; nice location

  • 4 of 5

This condo was a great setup for us, a family of 3 and two other couples who had come from different states to attend a wedding in Kings Beach. With all of the bedrooms downstairs, we were able to hang out late without bothering anyone who wanted to sleep early. While we never used the loft, I can see it would have been a great space for kids or others who wanted to lounge around.

The only down side for us was that the water heater was on the small side (40gal) for a condo that can accommodate 10 people, plus it didn't really feel like it was heating as much water even for that small size. Even two people taking short, lukewarm showers left the rest without warm water. With us being 6.5 people, even with some of us showing in the AM versus PM, most of us went without comfortably warm water. Also, the railing that edges the loft was quite rickety. I would be nervous about younger or rowdier kids playing upstairs alone putting weight on it.

Otherwise, we enjoyed our time. The comforts provided were plenty, and it was great having such a beautiful trail and creek running behind it. The Lake Tahoe is easily within walking distance (even for a 5 year old) and there is a grocery store just a few miles away.

Great location, great for groups

  • 4 of 5

My husband, daughter, and I stayed here with two other couple friends to attend a wedding in nearby Kings Beach. It was a great layout for groups or reunions with all of the bedrooms (and one bathroom) downstairs on the entry floor, a living area on the second level, and a loft overlooking the living area. We were able to put our daughter to bed and still enjoy hanging out in the living area without bothering her downstairs. Each bedroom had a TV, so it was great for having a couple in each room for some privacy and relaxing. There is a great trail and creek behind the condo that was really fun to explore and meander, especially for our young daughter. Lake Tahoe is a short walk away, and there is a grocery store just a few miles away.

70s Ski house in Lake Tahoe

  • 5 of 5

I read the reviews on this home and think some of the reviewers did not read the previous reviews or were expecting to stay at the Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton. The pros for this unit. Was the pictures adequately describe the unit? Absolutely. The hot water runs out since it is a 40 gallon tank. For the cost of a new low volume shower head, the amount of hot water could be extended. We had two 13 year old girls and parents in the home. The washer dryer did its job but be aware, it hogs hot water too. Once you realize you could shower, soap up and then rinse, the unit had plenty of hot water. But it would be cozy for 10 unless everyone had 5 minute showers. The two bathrooms are very nice but 40 gallon hot water heater just cannot make enough hot water for everyone.

It would be nice for the range fan to work. I would just buy a new fan but it looks like the unit is a bit worn. If you are just going skiing, the place is great. Not much of a view but convenient to many North Lake Tahoe ski areas. The kitchen was very functional and you had to realize that you were at 6200 feet. Boiling water and cooking needed to be adapted. The toaster burned things on the lowest setting.

If you are looking for a good basic home with excellent wifi and tv, comfortable beds and a 70s decor, this is the place for you. If you are looking for an updated home with current equipment, this is not the place for you. The heater is located on the second of three floors. The first having 3 bedrooms with either a queen or king size bed and a loft or 3rd floor with 4 beds. The electric blankets allowed you to keep the heater low. I think they had minimal insulation in the walls as the heater would go off every 15 minutes at night. Also, do not run the dishwasher at night as the house shakes. Run it just before you leave to go skiing. Run it at night, and it will be difficult to sleep even with the best of insulation.

Great value. A little worn. great for kids or a couple of families. Good cooking utensils. I would recommend the place and also come back here again. It is well priced but do not expect a Four Seasons expectation..
