Rustic Western Experience With Hot Tub For Stargazing - No Extra Fees

Bedrooms 1
Space 35 m²
Property type bungalow

About the property

1Bedroom /1 Bathroom Guesthouse-Sleeps 2

A newly-built guesthouse with the feel of the Old West.

We are located far enough out of Alpine to give you a rural feel, but in reality being just minutes from downtown, this studio guesthouse gives you the best of both worlds. This is our guesthouse, and sits approximately 30 feet from our house. The patio shown is part of our house. However, we are very respectful of your privacy, and all of the facilities are yours to use during your stay.

Sit out on the large covered porch and enjoy watching the quail and other wildlife, or visit with our own assortment of livestock. We are pet-friendly, and can even board horses for a small fee.

After you have enjoyed your day, relax around a fire in the fire pit, or soak in the hot tub while watching the sky for shooting stars and satellites. If you feel like cooking outside, there is a gas grill available, or you can BBQ over the fire in the fire pit.

Inside the guesthouse, you will experience the warmth of rustic and the comfort of modern from the custom-built cedar furniture and cabinetry to the knotty-pine vaulted ceiling, along with the wall of windows opening onto a fantastic view of Alpine against the mountains. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, sink, cook-top, and pantry. It is equipped with a microwave, toaster oven, automatic coffee-maker, toaster, and cooking utensils.

The queen-size custom-built bed has plenty of storage space under it in case you want to stay awhile.

The television is a 32-inch flat screen with satellite service and a DVD player.

The guesthouse is climate-controlled with a whisper-quiet heating and cooling system.

The modern, spacious bathroom includes a large walk-in shower, and a vanity with plenty of counter space. There is also a hair dryer, and an iron and ironing board.

If we are booked, or you are looking for something a little bigger, please check out our sister property, listing #923603.

Come stay outside the box, and experience the true West Texas.

Amazing place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Lisa is the best! She is so hospitable and welcoming, and her property is absolutely beautiful. It’s only a short drive to downtown Alpine and Marfa, but you still get the peace and quiet of being on a ranch. A perfect place to stay! I would recommend it to anyone and I’m hoping to go back soon. Thanks again, Lisa!

Lisa and Steve are great hosts. The room was big, clean and comfortable. The view from the yard was spectacular. We loved the fire pit. Unfortunately we couldn't take the strong cold wind so we didn't take advantage of the hot tub or fire pit. They had several animals, a friendly dog and an orange cat named Aggie, a horse, chickens, calves and goats. Baby goats were born while we were there. I loved the cars in the garage. The wine and fresh eggs were a nice touch. We have already told friends about this guesthouse and we will return sometime. Thanks Lisa and Steve

Mountain View is a great stay with perfect hospitality and facilities.

Wine and eggs from the “local” hens were a great and welcome touch, the

guest house itself was excellent, well equipped and furnished. I enjoyed the morning welcome from the goats, hens, and horse, especially when I had something to treat them with. We hope to be back and would not hesitate to to recommend to others.

Located on the Fort Davis Hwy., we are just minutes away from downtown Alpine, Sul Ross University, restaurants, and shopping, including boutique art galleries and gift shops. Alpine is the gateway to Big Bend National Park, along with historic mining towns such as Terlingua(famous for its annual Chili Cookoff) and the bordertown of Lajitas with its championship golf course. To the west of Alpine is Marfa, filled with many historic buildings and a growing art community. In between Alpine and Marfa is the famous Marfa Lights visitors' center. North on the Fort Davis Hwy., along the Texas Mountain Trail, is the Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute, which features native plants of the Chihuahuan Desert located in a gorgeous canyon setting. Further down the road is the historic town of Fort Davis, just 20 minutes from us. While there, you can explore the actual Fort Davis, which is a National Historic Site. Fort Davis is filled with charming shops and restaurants that add to its Western flair. A little further up the road is the McDonald Observatory, where you can attend their famous Star Parties, or just take a tour. The Fort Davis Highway is used by both bicyclists and motorcyclists as a year-round scenic ride. There are so many activities to enjoy in this area, and we are located right in the heart of it all.
