Bright, airy and beautiful one-bedroom top-floor suite.

Before we describe Strathcozy we want to ensure it is the right place for you (and you are the right guests for us)

We are therefore starting with our house rules:

* smoking is not permitted anywhere at Strathcozy- including outdoor spaces

* pets are not permitted

* candles, incense and strong perfumes are not allowed

* except by prior arrangement Strathcozy is limited to 3 guests

* except by prior arrangement check in is at 14:00, check out at 11:00

* except by prior arrangement, or returning guests, we will be here to greet you upon your arrival. We therefore require an accurate arrival time.

If you cannot abide by these conditions please don't consider Strathcozy.

Otherwise- please read on-

Strathcozy is on the top floor of a completely modernized century-old home with all conveniences. It is located in Vancouver's oldest and hippest neighbourhood.

Another sunny day in paradise? Sit on your balcony and enjoy the view of the garden down below.

Raining? Embrace it-listen to it patter on the roof and skylights of your vaulted ceilings.

Enjoy the radiant warmth of your heated floors- or your gas fireplace.

We know what we would like to find when we travel. Need an extra cookie sheet or serving dish? Did you forget something? Or did we? We're downstairs- just ask.

We provide extra quality linens and stock our dispensers with quality toiletries.

For entertainment- a 42' flat screen TV with a PVR, digital channels and a quality sound system, a clock radio with an ipad docking station. And of course, a stocked bookcase and quality Canadian Magazines.

For work- a notebook desk with ample outlets, usb charging ports, wireless internet access, phone service with free North American calling (international calling by arrangement)- and those little things you need- scotch tape, staples, etc.

Our home was completely rebuilt with the finest mechanical systems, a Heat Recovery Ventilation System (which constantly brings fresh air indoors), and never out hot water.

How about a full size washer and drier- and even a shoe drier and lock box for your valuables?

We have tried to provide every comfort to make your stay with us enjoyable.

We are located in Vancouver's oldest neighbourhood, 6 blocks east of Chinatown and the exquisite Dr Sun Yat-sen classical Chinese garden. On your way to Chinatown you will pass the Strathcona Community Center. If you're up early enough you can witness the Chinese people doing Tai Chi in McLean Park, and pass by a small but really beautiful Buddhist Temple. When you reach Chinatown you are half way downtown. Gastown is just north of Chinatown.

One block to the east is the Ray-Cam Community Center, seven blocks east is the Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Center, and Commercial Drive.

We are next door to the Roman Catholic Sacred Spirit Center, Sacred Heart Parish and Kateri Center.

At the other end of our block is the Ukrainian Cultural Centre and around the corner is the Russian Hall and a small Russian Orthodox church.

We are a 20-minute walk to Science World, Pacific Central bus and train station (VIA rail and Amtrak), and the Main St or Stadium Skytrain stations. For further transit info go to Translink.ca- use E Pender @ Campbell Ave as a departure point for trip planning. We are a block away from Hastings Street (Hwy 7a) which is a major transportation artery. The transit service from here is great.

The following car share programs operate in our neighbourhood: Car2Go and MODO.

We are 4 short blocks north of the Adanac bike route- leading downtown to the west or towards Commercial Drive to the East. Vancouver is scheduled to have a community bike share program in place by the summer of 2013.

If your visit to Vancouver is to work or relax, you just might want to stay in Strathcona. Walk over to Union Market, a corner store unlike any other. They bake their own bread, and the tables outside are a great place to watch the cyclists whiz by.
