About this property

The Perfect Location for your North Shore Experience

On the Waters Inn, just steps from the “Big Lake” is the perfect location for those who seek to immerse themselves in the Northland experience. Two very popular state parks are located on either side of the Inn; Gooseberry Falls (1.4 miles) to the south and Split Rock (4.7 miles) to the north. These two parks are connected by the Gitchi-Gami State Trail, a paved walking, hiking, biking path that can be accessed by simply walking up our driveway. This trail also connects you with the Superior Hiking Trail, Iona’s Nature Area (.5 miles), a beautiful pink rhyolite beach, and Twin Points Water Access (.25 miles) where sea kayakers can access the Lake Superior State Water Trail.
After enjoying the beauty of the Northland, take rest in our 3,500 square foot executive home. The home includes 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Each room was designed to reveal a picture postcard of Lake Superior, especially the Great Room with its 14 foot high windows and 180 degree view. The master bedroom includes a king-sized bed, an en suite bathroom and spa tub. The upstairs flat also includes a king, futon, and couch with an en suite bathroom. The main floor includes two other queen bedrooms and a private bathroom. To further the Northland experience, we have handpicked all of the prints and pictures found in the inn revealing the iconic places of the North Shore.
The modern open concept kitchen boasts all stainless steel appliances and wine fridge. The 4x7 foot granite topped island will provide the room you need to create your own one of a kind meal. Cabinets and drawers are well stocked with utensils, glass and stemware, plates, baking and serving dishes. The Inn also has Blue-tooth and WiFi accessibility. We also provide eco-friendly soaps, linens, Keurig coffee machine, and a hair dryer in every bathroom.
As the day closes, enjoy some late night conversation on the 3 season porch as you listen to the wash of the waves and watch the lights of the iron boats as they glide by. You can also relax on the 400 sq. foot attached deck that overlooks the lake, or relax and play some yard games in our new 2500 sq. foot green space, complete with pergola.

Thanksgiving on the North Shore
Perfect home and location for a family holiday gathering (we had 8 adults). Interior is spacious, and the kitchen worked well for making the big meal. Beautiful view right on the lake. The outside deck and 3 season porch looked like they would be great for a warm weather trip. Great hiking/walking right from the house, with Split Rock and Gooseberry a few minutes way. Joe (host) was very responsive and helpful. A great place!

Gorgeous place on a perfect spot!
The home was as we expected, spacious and, comfortable. The location was perfect with a trail to the water and firepit. The view was amazing. The host responded quickly. There was some water issues the host was not aware of and will be addressed. We hope to come back.
