Interaction with guests
I'd like to ensure that your vacations starts off on the right foot.
As there is no doorman at the building I will personally greet you upon arrival at the building. Regarding to that guests usually tell the approximate time of their arrival or give me a call (or sms) like 30min before they arrive. So far this became the best practice.
Once you've had a chance to dump your bags and grab a drink, I'm always happy to give you a quick walk-through of the local area.
If you're not up to it, I'm equally happy to run you through a list of key attractions and cheat sheets for making the most of your stay.
To kick-off your dream vacation, you will also arrive to a welcome basket.
Throughout your stay, I'm only ever a phone call away. If you are without a phone than one is in the apartment. Also feel free to use viber as a free WIFI is excellent. And feel free to drop me an email anytime - I'm at the computer so often anyways.
I'm always happy to provide recommendations, advice or anything else that might pop up during your stay.
If you are anything like me, you'll forget half of your luggage in the mad scramble back to the airport. Don't worry - this has happened countless time before (especially with kids!) and I always find a way to get your prized possessions back into your hands.
The neighborhood
LOCATION DESCRIPTION:
Apartment is located in a quiet residential part of the city in the center of the ring formed by the river Ljubljanica as one of it's rooms shares the view to the hill Golovec. Within the ring where anything can be reached on foot are elementary school, secondary schools, high schools, academy, faculties, parks, recreation centers, walking/running path Golovec and the Ljubljana Castle. Ljubljanica river offers cruises along the old city center.
SIGHTSEEING / HOW TO GET TO THE CITY CENTER?
Simple, you are already there – keep following the monuments.
Before you reach the monument of a France Prešeren which is located in the old historical part of the city on the Prešeren Square you'll be already richer by seeing few other very important monuments and structures. The first of them after turning left at the traffic light will be the two that opposite each other a Maks Fabiani monument and a duplex bridge named after him – Maks Fabiani Bridge. Maks Fabiani was an architect who created today known as a Internal ring of the roads around the old city center after the Ljubljana's earthquake in 1895. Architect has created a plan for all of the roads a way before the first car has arrived. Fabiani has also planned many monuments (A monument of France Prešeren on Prešeren Square today's central tourist point), many city squares (a square of Liberation Front), many ramps in Park Tivoli and many buildings within the ring. With all of his work contributed to the city he may be called "a creator, the father" what most tourists and residents of Ljubljana enjoy today.
Entering into his Inner ring by passing him by you'll see the other for the city and the Ljubljanica river very important architectural structure – The Ljubljanica Watergate. Created by the other also very influential architect of Ljubljana a Jože Plečnik. After living the second bridge behind and walking along the river you'll come to the very famous a Dragon Bridge. Which you'll recognize for sure. Just across the street you'll enter the Ljubljana Central Market designed by Jože Plečnik. His famous arcades are still standing there today. Between the arcades the another very important a Butcher's Bridge was built according to his plans. Way after his death. (the bridge is new today) Less than a minute away you'll reach a Triple Bridge and on the other side of it you'll see a monument of the France Prešeren. During the entire walk on your left side above your head you'll have a nice view on the castle therefore knowing that you are headed to the right direction. All that takes from 10 - 15min of a nice walk along the river.

The locals are all around. The cafe/bar is a tiny part of a big residential complexes next to the apartment. You'll have locals, students all type of people all the time just walking by.
