The Lake Norman Retreat, formally operated as a bed and breakfast, is back on the vacation rental scene! The architecture of this 4,200 square foot home is based upon the work of famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Located on the main channel of Lake Norman, you will literally feel at one with nature in this setting, while enjoying all the modern amenities.

The Space

The Lake Norman Retreat boasts panoramic view of Lake Norman’s main channel and is located directly across the channel from unspoiled Lake Norman State Park. The home has the feel of a large tree house perched high above the Lake, and offers an enjoyable and scenic walk through a variety of dogwood, azalea and rhododendron down to the lake covered boathouse and dock and boat slips.

Lake Norman Retreat is ideal for group gatherings, family reunions or corporate retreats.

The upper level of the Retreat offers wood beam vaulted ceilings throughout, large great room overlooking main channel of Lake Norman, kitchen and bar area, and two separate living quarter wings, each with three beautifully decorated bedrooms.

The Great Room offers large flat screen television mounted above fireplace, comfortable sectional and leather and cushioned sitting chairs, wood burning fireplace, large dining table comfortably seating eight, floating wood bar with additional bar stool seating, and beautiful view of Lake Norman’s main channel through multiple windows and sliding glass doors.

The Great Room opens out to spacious wrap-around deck and stairs winding down through azalea, rhododendrum and dogwood to Lake and dock. At the dock, stand up paddle board, kayak and water toys are available for use. Pontoon boat is available for daily or weekly rental for an additional charge.

Screened porch and expansive decking wrap around the exterior of the home, and features two separate eating areas, numerous sitting areas and charcoal and gas grills.

Kitchen comes fully equipped with dinnerware, cookware, utensils, gas range/oven, dishwasher, refrigerator. A beverage center and microwave drawer are located in the large island. A powder room is located directly off the kitchen.

There are flat screen televisions in all bedrooms, and Sonos sound system throughout the house, including the outside deck. Spectrum with premium pay channels are available throughout the house. Several smart TVs so hook into your own accounts and preferences.

The downstairs recreation area has full gym featuring free weights and cardio equipment, pool table, electronic darts, assorted board games, wet bar, bar stools and cushioned chair seating, gas-log fireplace, microwave, flat screen televisions, and wi-fi connected printer. A laundry room with washer, dryer and second refrigerator, as well as a full bathroom is also located downstairs.

The Retreat comfortably sleeps 17 people, although a large and very comfortable couch is also available for sleeping. Three of the six upstairs bedrooms have queen-sized beds, two have full-sized beds, and one has a bunk bed with a twin bed on top, full bed on bottom and a full-sized trundle. A sleeper sofa is also available in the downstairs area. The sleeper sofa is luxury and without the traditional uncomfortable bars and sleeps like a regular bed. The maximum capacity is 18 in all cases. Master Suite also offers private entrance to screened porch and whirlpool Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom.

The Lake Norman Retreat is available for weekly rental from Saturday to Saturday, or for a minimum of four nights during the Saturday to Saturday timeframe. Renters must sign owners rental agreement.
