Perfect island getaway for the family

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a week stay at the Pink Beach House, and we miss it already. For starters, the owner has done a fantastic job of providing a comfortable "home away from home" in paradise. Karen provided all the information we needed to plan a fun, first trip to the Caymans. The property was everything as advertised ... clean, well-appointed and charming. Karen has provided everything a family would need to enjoy their stay ... plush beach towels, snorkeling gear, reef shoes, pool toys and beach chairs. We spent our first day kayaking along the inside of the barrier reef and saw a spotted eagle ray within minutes of hitting the water. Our two young children -- ages 3 and 5 -- enjoyed splashing around in the pool, combing the beach for "treasures" and exploring the shallows along the shore. This is definitely a house for ocean lovers. And the location couldn't be better. The house is just a short drive to Rum Point which has a nice beach-front bar and grill, a sandy beach that's perfect for small children (and a great place to escape on a windy day) and boats that will take you out to Stingray City. Head the other direction to the East End, and you'll enjoy natural scenery you can't get on the crowded Seven Mile Beach. Be sure to check out two fantastic restaurants, Tukka and Eagle Ray's. At night, we sat on the beach and watched the moon rise over the coconut trees while sipping some of the island's small-batch rum. If you want to experience the Caribbean away from the crowds and noise, I couldn't recommend a better house to stay in. We're already looking at the calendar to see when we can come back.

Super relaxing! A much slower pace than the west side of the island!

  • 4 of 5

The house itself was very clean and well appointed! We had three couples in our group and had all the room we would ever ask for.

There was only one real bummer for us. The beach was forever being overrun by weeds washing up on shore. I raked them a couple times a day in the hopes that we could sit in the sand by the gentle waves but it was pretty much impossible to keep up. We spent all of our time by the pool when we were home. I cleaned the pool a couple of times too, no biggie there. A team of two workers came on about our 5th day and cleaned the pool real well and raked about 3/4 of the beach. To rake down by the water, even they found this impossible!

Pretty nice snorkeling right off the beach!

And just two other minor things, be very careful backing out of the driveway, it's very tough to see traffic because of the bushes. The house alarm kept beeping and we were cancelling this several times a day. We figured that some sensor needed a new battery but we couldn't figure it out!

Overall, for me, i'd rate our stay about 8.5 out of 10.

Highly Recommend

We are 2 adult couples with long experience renting houses worldwide, frequently in the Caribbean. This is a terrific house and meets 5-Star standard in nearly every regard.

Pros:

Central location on the north shore, very convenient to all points on the island. Appealing, diverse selection of restaurants in a 15-minute radius as well as a nearby hub for a wide range of water sports. Private beach is naturally configured so guests can sunbathe, wade, swim or even snorkel to an easy to reach reef.

Very equitable bedroom configuration. Three beautiful kingsize bedrooms with ensuite baths, of similar size and all facing the same gorgeous view of palms, beach and surf. Comfortable living room, inviting sunroom/office, wonderful kitchen and adjacent dining room with a sea view. The MBR and DR both access the pool deck via sliding doors.

Every room immaculately clean and cheerfully accented in attractive Caribbean themed decor. Furnishings comfortable and in excellent condition. The kitchen is brand new plus a fresh-paint feeling throughout the house. Attractive exterior framed by beautifully landscaped and carefully maintained grounds. Pool deck is generous with plenty of seating around a crystal clear pool that is cleaned weekly.

Amenities are over the top. Thrilled to find a broad selection of quality tennis rackets and balls plus two nearby private courts that were in terrific condition by Caribbean standards. Shelves of books, puzzles and games for all ages in the sunroom. Decent WiFi and cable. Two nice tandem kayaks perfect for this beach. Dozens of fins, snorkels, masks and water shoes in all sizes plus pool floats and toys. Closets of baby stuff. Easy to use gas grill. Well stocked kitchen. Plenty of paper products and soaps. Abundance of quality towels and sheets. Sufficient climate control and lighting in every room. Washer and dryer.

The careful maintenance, decor and amenities ensured we were comfortable throughout our stay. There is no question that the owner does everything possible to make us guests feel welcome in the home, and we did.

Cons

No screens on window and doors so could not enjoy the sea breezes and crashing surf while sleeping and dining.

Too much plastic flotsam on adjacent beaches. Not the fault of the house but troubling nonetheless.

The bottom line is that we highly recommend The Pink Beach House based on many years of comparison.

Amazing Girls Getaway at an Amazing Property

  • 5 of 5

We traveled to Grand Cayman for a girl’s getaway the first week of December and what a great time we had. Grand Cayman is such a gorgeous island and The Pink Beach House is a gem. It was perfect for us. We had everything we needed to prepare great meals together at the house. The kitchen appears to be brand new and is gorgeous. We loved having the water dispenser on the fridge. The living area is large and very comfortable. The décor and artwork in this home are not typical for a rental property. They’re beautiful. The media room came in handy with keeping in touch with our children. The wifi was great and we were able to all stay connected without a problem. The bedrooms and baths were very roomy and nicely done. The beds were very comfortable and the view of the Caribbean from every room was unexpected. And the air conditioning cooled the upstairs just as well as the downstairs which was really nice. We were provided with a very generous supply of bath and beach towels which was nice. The pool and pool deck were great for socializing. We spent most of our time lounging around the pool catching up except for a few breezy days where we hung out on the gingerbread front porch enjoying the beautiful landscaping. The view and beach were unbelievable. It was heaven. We took long walks down the beach and even found a few conch shells and sea fan treasures to take home with us. The white sandy beach is gorgeous. We did a lot of kayaking off the beach and really enjoyed looking down over the coral reef. A few of us snorkeled out at the reef and we were amazed at how alive it was. It was easy to get out to the reef and there were gorgeous coral formations and a ton of fish to see. What a prime location.

Our favorite restaurants were Kaibo Upstairs and Tukka Australian Fusion. Our favorite excursion was a boat trip to Stingray City. We loved hanging out at Rum Point Beach and having lunch there. Karen and Trish also recommended spending a day on Seven Mile Beach which we did. It was a lot of fun but we were happy to return to our peaceful spot on the North Shore. We played tennis at the Cayman Kai courts which were a little rustic but kind of cool because they were tucked in among the palms.

All in all, this was a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives and we were so thankful that we stayed at The Pink Beach House. Hopefully, we will get back again soon and will definitely stay at this property again and again.

This house has everything!! Gorgeous!

  • 5 of 5

First and foremost you should know Karen is amazing to work with. She had so much information on the island that we didn’t have to research anything. She would reply to emails in hours! As for the house, it is fully stocked!! From extra blankets, beach towels and bath towels. The snorkel gear in the garage was impressive!!! The kitchen has everything! Fully stocked!!!! There were a ton of games and dvds that came in handy on the day it rained. The house was super clean. 2 things you should be aware of. The beach was covered in sea grass. We wanted to stay away from seven mile beach and tourists, but in return we had sea grass. I’d rather deal with that than crowds, but it was just a surprise. Not sure if that is a winter thing or year round. Also, the pool is not heated. Which means we were not able to use it since we visited in January. That was the biggest disappointments, but the house and location was so wonderful. And Karen was a pleasure to work with that the house deserves 5 stars! I would LOVE to come back when the weather is nicer!!!!
