Great Lake House --Great View -- Great Yard -- Great Dock

  • 5 of 5

Brought the folks up here for a week and had a wonderful time.

I don't understand some of the complaints: the water filtering system is top-notch & looks very expensive.

The "weeds" are actually cattails & bull rushes -- part of the lake eco-system.

We will definitely be back next year. Thanks Tania.

Just Okay

  • 3 of 5

The furnishings were outdated, which we knew from the pictures and weren't a problem. While the house was cleaned on the surface it had not been deep cleaned in awhile. There was cobwebs in the corners and felt like it wasn't kept up. There was wallpaper peeling in the bathroom and a lot of lightbulbs burnt out. The pillows were really flat and uncomfortable so I would suggest bringing your own. It did it's purpose for us and was better then staying in a hotel but could be a lot better if they occasionally did a deep cleaning and a little updating here and there.

Owner's Response: Thanks for input, I'll let the caretaker know to get more deep cleaning done. They usually do it once a year however the lake attracts the spider webs. I agree the bathroom wallpaper needs to go, it's on the to do list, however they took care of more important issues recently. New roof, new blinds to keep the house cooler, new dock, new towels, new water softener which made a huge difference on the water quality. The owner also removed the basement carpet and added the nice tile. The owner is pretty easy to work with so things do get resolved. Thanks again! Tania

Great House and perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

I had a group of family & friends stay here and everyone had a great time, the house was located in the resort...about a 10-11 block walk on a nice quiet road lined with beautiful lake homes. We loved the lakeview, the house was perfect and it was in a great location near the beach and several golf courses. We spent a day at the island and in the evening took our pontoon over to the Elvis show and watched the event from our pontoon. We took the night time shuttle so we could go see the entertainment in the area without having to drive. We'll be back next year!

False advertising

  • 3 of 5

The home does not sleep sixteen people comfortably. There are beds for 12 people and the others will have to sleep on cots. When we rented, the description said there were three bathrooms. This was not correct. I see the description has been updated to 2.5 baths. This makes a big difference when trying to have 16 people shower.

Owner's Response: I can see her confusion on sleeps 16 (12 in beds). VRBO made changes AGAIN and this needs to get fixed. It used to say 16 guests were allowed to stay at the house as people sometimes would bring extra guests with air mattresses. We don't want to be firm on the 12 people. The bathrooms have always said three with the two showers so I'm not sure where she got that. I'll get VRBO on that! Thanks! Tania

Family of 11 stay

  • 2 of 5

My family (6 adults and 5 children) stayed for one week this summer. We loved the large back yard to play in and the fire pit. The kids especially enjoyed the pool table and ping pong table. We also appreciated the proximity to the Breezy Point Resort and enjoyed the live music that they provide.

There were, however significant concerns. The water in the hot tub was very dirty upon our arrival and there were no chemicals available. Even after the caretaker delivered chemicals for the tub, it did not clear up and looked nasty all week. In addition, screens were missing from nearly every upper level window which made it a safety concern for young children not to mention no option to open windows. The caretaker did respond to our concerns immediately and replace the screens.

Even though it had been clearly negotiated as part of our rental, the key to the Breeze Point pool was not available. This was frustrating. The dock was extremely weedy to the extent to which we could not dock our boat and needed to tether it from the end of the dock and let it float out in the water. Finally, we were very disappointed in the maintenance of the home. It was clean but very shabby. The walls were dirty and sorely in need of fresh paint. The wall paper was peeling everywhere. The mattresses on the kids beds in the bunk bed room did not have mattress protectors on them which is really gross on kids beds. It was very musty and smelly down stairs (I would think due to a dirty hot tub and pee on the mattresses).

Overall we liked the area and appreciated the responsiveness of the caretakers but will not be returning.

Owner's Response: In response to this lady, I did my best to resolve all her issues as the property manager. I spoke to the owner of this property and was able to give the tennant cash back. The owner is very easy to deal with when it comes to taking care of issues as he has 25+ houses. I have been working on fixing issues with this house and it's in the process of getting bids for painting. This was the tail end of the summer and it usually will need painting as renters are always hard on the walls. I did have the hard wood floors resurfaced and it looks beautiful! Theres not much I can do about the weeds, I have a photo on there to show people how it will look and I never get complaints about it as I tell them it's not a swimming beach. As far as the resort pool, this house does not come with their pool, occasionally I will give out my pool pass however I did not make it up there that week. I was willing to pay the fee for them to use Breezy Points pool or the lodge pool which has waterslides however they declined it. The hot-tub, it will no longer be available and I'm no longer advertising it. Too many issues related to it, wallpaper peeling, smells etc. I do appreciate any and all complaints as I only manage his 5 Breezy Point houses and I like to keep up on them. It's pretty rare to find a price like this for a 5 bedroom house on the water with a beaufiful view located in very popular resort. Again I'm sorry for any inconvenience. Tania
