Rent our beautiful cozy home in the historic district of Nantucket--just a two minute walk from the top of downtown Main Street, but a quiet respite from the bustle of the island.
Walking distance to Children's beach (10 minutes) and Jetties Beach (20 min), plus conveniently located near plenty of buses in town that can take you to beaches afar (Madaket, Surfside, Siasconset, etc.). Downtown Main Street, just 2 minutes away, is filled with delicious restaurants, fun shops, and historic sites.
Master bedroom has a king-sized bed and en-suite bathroom. Second bedroom has a full-sized bed and a single bed, with a bathroom across the hall. There is a third bedroom on the ground floor, with a (third) bathroom right next door.
Traditional decorations (antiques) with modern improvements (new kitchen and bathrooms, WiFi). Large living room, eat-in kitchen. Small patio with grill in the front.
We are two sisters and the house has been a part of our family since 1973. We renovated the house in 2000 so that it has a fully equipped modern kitchen and modern bathrooms as well. We love this house, and the island!
Severn Taylor purchased this house in 2000
The house is cozy and comfortable and filled with character. We have updated its amenities while maintaining its historic charm. We are steps away from the island's public bus system, beaches, restaurants, historic sites and museums, and shopping. From this location, we find it easy to enjoy the island without a car. However, if you do decide to bring a car, please remember the house does not have a parking spot. You can park your car along side streets off of Walnut Lane during the day and overnight. Alternatively, you can bring a copy of the signed lease to purchase a parking sticker from the police station on Fairgrounds Road for $75; it will allow you to park anywhere and leave the car on the street.

Love this house. It's a vintage vibe with all the modern amenities, and the location is amazing. The house itself is immaculate and very comfortable. Great kitchen! The hosts are awesome. It's our favorite place!!
We loved 8 walnut lane
I had reservations about the fact that it didn't have a parking space but it was very easy and convenient to find street parking. Owners were very accessible and very helpful!
My group rented this property for 9 days over the Independence Day holiday, and we were extremely happy with the rental. Along with the three bedrooms, we were happy to each have our own well-renovated bathrooms. The kitchen was modern and wonderfully equipped for those who prefer to cook-- though we ate more frequently at the many fantastic Nantucket restaurants, all within 5 mins' walking distance from the house. The only transportation we took were the bicycles we rented and the Wave shuttle, just a 5-min walk away. While we were close to everything, the home was located on a quiet side street, so traffic noise was never an issue. During our stay, the owner was readily available to answer texts with questions. While there was no central A/C, each bedroom offered a window unit, which kept us cool during a warm July week in Nantucket. In all, I would not hesitate to recommend this property and would rent it again in the future.
Just spent a wonderful week on Nantucket with my two "old lady friends". Three bedrooms with three bathrooms was perfect for us. This house was just as expected; Historic and quaint. Only thing we would wished it had was a microwave. Severn was wonderful to work with. Even returned a call late on Saturday night when I had a question about parking. We loved being in town and able to walk or bike everywhere. The designated bike trails allowed us to ride bikes all over the Island in relative safety. We did bring a car to haul all our stuff and solved the parking issue. Bring a copy of your lease and you can purchase a parking pass from the police station on Fairgrounds Road for $75 which allows to you park on the streets. It was well worth the price as we essentially left the car on the street the whole week. We are already taking about going back in the future.
I can not say enough wonderful things about this property. The property owner responded to my request to rent promptly and was beyond friendly and accommodating. The location is perfection-right in the center of town, absolutely no need for a car. The house itself is beautiful-spacious, charming, and immaculately clean. The furniture and décor are classic and very well done. There is an outdoor seating area, a grill, a very nice kitchen and a great living room for lounging. The beds are very comfortable, the linens are quality---quite frankly, I wish I could live here year round. I would highly recommend!
Nantucket is a charming, historic New England island with many wonderful pristine public beaches, endless miles of bike paths, delicious restaurants, and fun shopping. There is a reliable bus service throughout the island with service to many of the island's beaches.
