About this property

Family/pet friendly non-smoking chalet with private dock and waterfront.

Looking for a peaceful, quiet, private vacation where you can relax? Come stay at our cabin on a private cove of Pea Porridge Pond! Our Rental fee INCLUDES all linens AND basic cleaning charge. Your family dogs are welcome! Just pack your cooler and clothes - we’ve got the rest covered!

Located in Pea Porridge Association just outside the Village of Eidelweiss, our home is in a small quiet neighborhood on big Pea Porridge Pond. With more privacy than most areas, our neighborhood has several year round residents, but with enough distance that you really cannot see their homes, so you can enjoy the feeling of seclusion. Just a short walk out the back door, you will cross over Ragged Cove Rd, a private dead end right of way and walk down the hill to access our private dock and waterfront. We have 50 feet of private frontage on Pea Porridge Pond. You can fish from the dock, step down the water stairs into the water where clean water and sandy bottom are waiting for you. We have a four kayaks, two canoes, assorted life jackets, and different tubes/floating devices available for use to enjoy the water. Fishing poles are ready to go. At night, watch the sunset over Moat Mountain while you enjoy a waterside campfire.

Have we mentioned- dogs welcome! Our favorite guests are families that have that special furry friend who loves to tag along with you! From dog bowls and treats, to dog towels and leashes, we want your pet to feel welcome. And since our waterfront is private, you don’t have to worry about bringing your dog to a beach!

Our 3 bedroom home, has one first floor bedroom with king size bed, 4 piece bathroom, galley style kitchen, open dining/living room with gas fireplace, comfortable deck at back of house. Two upstairs bedrooms, one with king bed and daybed, and other with two twin beds and sofa that pulls out to a full size.

We do not charge a separate cleaning fee and provide all linens. All bedding (sheets, blankets, comforters), towels (bath and beach), sofa covers and even thee shower curtain are removed between guests to be safely laundered.

The kitchen is stocked with what you need. An assortment of seasonings and spices, flour, sugar, coffee, tea are stocked. Paper goods are also provided. We’ve tried to make sure you have what you will need - assorted pots and pans, plenty of dishes and glasses, muffin tins, electric griddle, crockpot, waffle maker, blender too.

First floor has air-conditioning, though you will rarely need it in the White Mountains. We also have fans available to enjoy the fresh air. Large deck on rear of home with gas grill. Kitchen with dishwasher, island with seating. Wi-fi works throughout.

At night, enjoy a campfire and s'mores from the backyard - the wood pile is stacked and waiting. A projector is available to connect to your laptop to enjoy an outdoor movie. We also have horseshoes and corn hole boards for family game time.

In the winter, you can skate on the pond - our hockey net and pond hockey goal and assorted sticks are in the garage. Or enjoy some down time streaming a movie in front of the gas fireplace inside. For skiers - Cranmore and King Pine are within 12 miles drive for skiing and tubing, with other major ski mountains within a short distance .

Bookings are Saturday to Saturday, check-in after 3pm, check-out by 11am.

Please note - our home and property is for non-smoking guests. No smoking/vaping allowed indoors or outdoors.

Incredible Spot for. Family Vacation
My family (8 of us total) had the best vacation here. Everything was exactly as described in the listing and all the reviews talking about the cleanliness are spot on. We loved it so much I immediately contacted the owner to book for next summer! From canoeing, kayaking, paddle boating, and just floating in the water, this place had everything you could possibly need. My kids loved jumping in the canoe every morning and searching for turtles. There was great fishing right off the dock and my 7 year old caught a large hornpout one night! The inside was fully stocked with everything you could need including towels for the whole family (beach and shower) as well as many other amenities. It was so nice to not have to think of every little thing while packing. Needless to say, we can’t wait to go back!

Great Family Lake Vacation
Very clean house, with more provided then any other house we had stayed at. Beach is a short walk but private and nice sandy bit for the kids. Upstairs beadrooms were GREAT for the kids.

Family Summer vacation
We just arrived home after a week here and had a GREAT time, we spent every sunny day out on the lake with the canoe, kayaks and we even brought our paddleboard to glide around on ... The house itself is clean, homey and filled with household essentials (ie: sugar, spices, soaps, paper towels, TP, ) things you hate stocking up on for just one week..so it was very convenient! Every time I turned around I caught myself saying "oh wait, they have it..."... The house is also set in a great location ...a little secluded type "neighborhood" but still just 15-20 minutes from shops, markets, restaurants, etc.... We were doing so much during the day that by the time night rolled around to enjoy the fire pits we were too pooped! finally the last night me and my husband had a nice fire in the firepit by the lake to cap it all off. Hoping we make it back in the future! Thanks for living up to the description and previous reviews!

Our family of three likes to getaway to the mountains in the summer - its our reward for those long winters spent in hockey rinks around New England. We rented for a lot of years before finally finding a place we loved enough to own.

Why they chose this property

Madison and the Pea Porridge Ponds are family friendly and peaceful. With no gas powered engines on the ponds, you can settle in and hear the loons and enjoy a quieter relaxed pace. This end of the Big Pond is quiet, most neighbors are year round residents, and you can enjoy privacy while not being too far from the bigger attractions in Mt Washington Valley. We enjoy hiking available both in Madison as well in White Mountain National Forest.

What makes this property unique

Our home is just outside the Eidelweiss Village District off of the main Eidelweiss Road and our water access is on a private cove on the big pond. Our house offers privacy and private water access so that you do not have to pack up the car and drive over to the beaches, unless you want to. We are close to all the local spots, but tucked away to enjoy quiet and privacy to wind down from your busy lives. Before we bought, we rented a lot of years, so we have tried to think of all the things you could need: grill, enough pots and pans, knives and a sharpener, beach towels, beach floats, fishing poles, two fire pits, outdoor movie screen. You can just plan to be here and chill - no need to drive to a beach.
