About this property

Spacious 4-season Lake Champlain charming contemporary house

Spacious 4-season, private, lakefront house. With 2750 square feet, this spectacular 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom, tri-level lakefront vacation rental sleeps 8. Gorgeous views to Lake Champlain Bridge and Adirondacks. This beautiful property is located at the end of the road, with 2.5 total acres, making it quiet and private. Bridport is conveniently located in central Vermont, 14 miles west of Middlebury and 35 miles southwest of Burlington. We are close to a wide range of activities and attractions.

Wonderful year-round home, the ideal location for your summer vacation and also winter activities including ice fishing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, relaxing, etc. Close to Middlebury, Vergennes, Bristol VT for fine dining and shopping. Less than 1 hour from Burlington VT.
Perfect place to stay while visiting Middlebury College students and/or attending events such as parent's week, orientation, mid-year and May graduation. Also plenty of room for family reunions.

Main level: Great room with dining area (table seats 10), well-equipped kitchen with island and additional 3 stools. There is also a sitting area with pull-out sleeper couch and armchair. Two bedrooms are on this level, one with a queen bed, the other with 2 twin beds. A full bathroom with tub/shower adjoins the bedrooms.
Floor to ceiling windows look out to a roofed wraparound deck overlooking the lake. Enjoy a meal or a cup of coffee on the cushioned seating or patio table/chairs and watch birds, boats, and wildlife.

Upper level: Large master loft area with king-size bed, full bathroom (shower) and sitting area where you can watch ROKU TV from 2 easy chairs.

Lower level: Family room with 2 couches, TV, pellet stove, and dining table (sits 6). There is an office area with an additional full-size refrigerator. Wall to ceiling bookcases hold dozens of puzzles, games and books for guests to enjoy. There is a full bathroom (shower) and washer and dryer located on this level. Floor to ceiling windows face the lake.

Outside: Step outside from the lower level to another roofed deck facing the lake where you can sit and enjoy a patio and yard area with picnic table, gas grill, and fire pit with wooden seats. The closed shed stores life vests, inflatables and oars/paddles. Semi-steep gravel driveway to a shale shoreline and dock. Shore is not sandy and when water level is low the water can be murky and weedy. Small boat launching access right on property.
Backyard large lawn near the barn is perfect for entertaining, lawn games (crochet, badminton, volleyball, horse shoes provided) or just relaxing. With 2.5 acres of land, there is lots of space for parking (cars and boat trailers) and pets to run.

Fishing can be done right off our dock, as the area is a popular spot for local fishermen. Swimming conditions are not optimal when water level is low, at the end of the summer, so we provide a canoe, rowboat, 2-person kayak, and paddle boat in addition to inflatable rafts and tubes to enjoy the lake. Life vests and oars are provided, too.

Plenty of room for everyone! Three levels! Tight on the water! Very peaceful winter location.
Our family has outgrown the childhood home! We wanted a place near us where everyone could have their own space but rooms big enough for us all to congregate! This home fit the bill perfectly! Very comfortable furnishings. Big open spaces with high ceilings. Huge table where we all had our meals together. Plenty of space for our four year old granddaughter to successfully play hide and seek! Nice master suite on the top level where we all sprawled out and watched movies at night. Plenty of games were available for us to choose from. We played a couple of rowdy Uno games! All in all a successful solution to outgrowing our little home and letting us all be together! Would love to come again during the warmer months too!

Absolutely Wonderful!!
I can’t say enough about this beautiful property! The location is quiet and very secluded and the home is so comfortable! We felt like we were home from the moment we walked in. The highlight is definitely the view of Lake Champlain! We spent a majority of our time on the second floor deck looking at the lake and bird watching. The view of the lake from inside on the second floor is spectacular as well. Our little dachshund had such a blast watching the chipmunks and being out on the deck with us. The beds were so comfortable and the entire house was loaded with all types of amenities. Just a fabulous, fabulous place! The homeowners communicated so well and gave very thorough instructions. We can’t wait to plan our next trip!

I fell in love with Lake Champlain when I was in the Air Force stationed in Plattsburgh NY back in the 60's. It's been a dream ever since of owning a place on this beautiful lake. So in August 2016 my wife and I were able to purchase this wonderful lakefront property, and we couldn't be happier.

Why they chose this property

We researched and toured many properties on Lake Champlain, both in VT and NY over the years. This place won us over because of the stunning views from the wrap-around porch, the impressive layout of the rooms and floors, the private location on a cul-de-sac, the spacious interior and 2 acre exterior with barn. And of course the heron statue, which reminds us of the wonderful bird watching as we sit on the porch with our coffee.

What makes this property unique

Being able to house a large number of people, yet having plenty of room to spread out, is a benefit to this property. Small boats can be launched right from the property and moored in front of property. Fish right from the dock. Kayak, canoe, inflatable rafts provided. The house is well-stocked with kitchen amenities as well as baby needs. There is a large assortment of games and videos for guests to use indoors as well as outdoor games.
