Awesome Barn On A 10 Acre Farm With 6 Bedrooms With Views Of The Pastures

A wonderful converted barn on a 10 acre estate farm , gourmet kitchen, game room, large living room w/wood burning stove, library, large dining room, with 5 bedrooms (and a loft area) all with private baths and entrances to decks or patios, TV'S, and AC that will sleep 18 people. Beautiful gardens and a swimming pool, with views of the horses in the pastures. The five bedrooms and loft area sleep eighteen people. Our barn is handicapped accessible with a handicapped accessible room.


We also have a nice building located on the property that can be used for small weddings (45 -50 people), rehearsal dinners, baby or wedding showers. The building is known as THE STUDIO and there are pictures that show it set up for a small party. If you want to have a function where you will have more thsn 6 day guests, you would have to book the Studio. Small dinners parties for the guests staying overnight with an additional 6 day guests, is permissible. Please contact us about this STUDIO rental if this would interest you when you book the barn for lodging.

About Jacquie C. Walker

I have owned this property for 30 years and converted the barn for a Bed & Breakfast which I have operated for 13 years. It has been very popular and has enjoyed a good reputation as well run and a unique property for a weekend stays. But now is the time for me to retire from the daily work of a B & B and this outstanding historic barn is being offered for rent as a vacation rental to families and friends.

We bought this property because of the historic significance of the barn and being located in the heart of Bucks County, PA. where we could stable our horses and enjoy a country life and take in all the activities of the area.

What makes this barn unique

The setting of this property is beautiful and in addition to the barn it has a very nice stable for our horses and an 1800 stone farmhouse, all on the same property. Staying here gives one the feeling of a true farm with its outbuildings and pastures.

Located between two parks with lakes, six miles to Doylestown that has 4 museums, an 12 miles to New Hope and Peddler's Village. A great country location close to all major attractions. The barn can only be used for the number of guests that is booked on the reservation. Day guests are welcomed but not over 8 people. If the renters want to have a dinner, an event, a party for more than the people who are staying overnight, then the studio will have to be rented for that event. The cost of the studio is $400 for 5 hours plus tablecloths, etc.

Perfect for a women's weekend!

Our stay was everything we imagined it would be. We had a group of 15 women in this house and the space was adequate for all of us. It was cozy and we loved every minute.

Great place for a large group!

This was the perfect spot for our corporate departmental retreat. The rooms were comfy and all had individual bathrooms and had an ideal setup for presentations, food setup, dining, and more!

Property has problems. Owner is argumentative and unpleasant.

Eleven of us, 60+ year old women stayed at Jacquie’s home/barn on the weekend of 11/3/17. The home was beautiful as were the grounds. There were many amenities and the home was comfortable. Jacquie accommodated us by allowing entry 45 minutes before the stated time. However, there were a couple of unacceptable problems—we could not light the oven, the coffee maker was broken and the dishwasher did not work. We called her local helper about the oven and he quickly responded, but was unable to light the oven. The next day, we discovered the dishwasher problem (we had started it the night before but it had stopped mid-cycle) and the coffee maker. We again called her helper and left a voice mail. We do not know if he investigated these latter problems but they were not fixed. Additionally, but of much less concern, there were various maintenance problems such as non working lights, burned out light bulbs, leaky teapot. A clarification is the home was advertised as having a loft bedroom with three single beds and a half bath down the hall. In reality, there were two separate lofts with a single bed in each. The half bath was down loft steps and through half of the house.

After we returned home from the weekend, I wrote to Jacquie about the issues and requested financial compensation. She called me immediately. It was a very unpleasant conversation where she denied the problems and shifted blame to me for not calling her directly (she was out of town), even though her helper’s name and number were prominently displayed in the kitchen (and he had told us at check-in to call him for any problems).

Neither I nor the other women would stay at Jacquie’s properties in the future.

Owner's Response: First, I called this guest and left her a message to call me with any problems. Never heard from her. Then she called me when she returned home and it was her home number not her cell phone that I had called. This guest had every opportunity to call me with any problems and she did not. She could have called VRBO and the would have called me and she did not. Then she gets home and demands that I give her some compensation because all the appliances were broken . Well, the very next day I had someone come into the kitchen and check all the appliances and they all worked. And I informed her of it. I also called VRBO and informed them of this situation and they said she never called them either. Since this guest checked out, we have had two other parties rent the barn and everything works. No problems. It appears to me that this guest was just trying to get some money back on her rental and used the excuse that nothing worked. Because, ALL THE APPLIANCES are and have been working. She had an opportunity to all me or VRBO and she did not. We work very hard to make our rental a great place ti stay. It s an awesome converted barn and I refer you to all the 5 star reviews and disregard this woman as her statements are false. And she states that she and her friends would not rent here again and we would NEVER have them back again after this experience.....

A week in the country

There were 8 of us @ the lovely barn house property in PA. The location was great to ride the commuter in PHL and enjoy the city. We had plenty of bathroom and bedrooms to meet our needs. Also, we did not need to climb stairs. We took advantage of being able to cook in for our evening meals. We all enjoyed our accomodations and great access to sightseeing.

A step back in time staying in a large converted barn ion an historic farm in an exurban setting

The house was great for our large family gathering with ample indoor space and odd but charming outdoor spaces to gather and play games. Five siblings and their spouses each enjoyed nicely decorated en suite bedrooms, a large dining room table for meals, a well equipped kitchen and a giant great room where the family could join for group conversation and games or split up for small group or individual activities. Lacking was a sound system for music and a convenient outdoor decent size grill. The kitchen dishwasher and oven were quirky but adequate. We all in our ten adult party would be happy to return to this property for our annual sibling reunion. The property manager was pleasant and helpful when available. The property is in a beautiful area with many varied activities and attractions for tourists. It also has a swimming pool.

Great property , love the details but need more maintenance

Owner's Response: I have no idea what this guest is referring to when she says "more maintenance". We have the top cleaning service in the area, we have regular maintenance all the time. We strive very hard to make this a great place to stay. However, these guests left the barn very messy, They did not clean up after themselves, which is part of the rental agreement. There was trash all over the bedrooms and crackers,etc. on the floors from the children most likely eating everywhere., They left so much trash in bags in the trash containers that there is no room left for anyone else. Guests on s two night stay are not allowed that many bags. This all required extra cleaning by our staff. This guest also called me at least three times about issues such as internet access. Not once did she mention that there needed to be maintenance done. Usually when guests leave a mess like was left by these guests, they usually try to put blame on our cleaning staff..... Please refer to all the five star ratings from guests who found the property outstanding.....

Located on a 10 acre horse farm, the historic converted 1818 barn was once the dairy farm of author Pearl S. Buck., whose estate is just around the corner. Close to Doylestown with its four museums,Peddler's Village with over 100 fine shops, Lake Galena/ Peace Valley Park and Nockamixon State Park , both with water activities, hiking trails. It is just a short drive to the Delaware River, New Hope & Lambertville, with their fine restaurants, shops, galleries and county theater.

We do not rent for weddings or any other event of any size. The accommodations are for eighteen guests, including the children.
