Photos and Description of the Traphill vacation lodge rental

3-Room Suite in mountain lodge, on vineyard estate, overlooking Roaring River

The Lodgings at Roaring River Vineyards, LLC (RRV) is the hidden gem in the NC mountains. Located just two miles from Stone Mountain State Park (NC), in the Yadkin Valley Wine Appellation in the heart of NC Wine Country in the Blue Ridge mountains and Blue Ridge Parkway.

The Lodgings are comprised of several vacation rentals consisting of a main lodge with multiple suites (Aspen #437203 and Birch# 437950) and a small cabin (Serendipity #513211) located on an vineyard estate reminiscent of a French mountain Vineyard.

We also offer private fishing on our ponds and river (catch and release, using barbless hooks). We also have a fishing guide that offers Guided Fishing Packages for a fee. We are also starting a Fishing Club with limited membership to ensure a wonderful fishing experience. Memberships are renewed on an annual basis.

Information can be found on our website (Roaring River Vineyards) in NC. We have recently added an outdoor event venue for weddings, private events, and business events. This is available from April 15 through October 31st. We plan to add concerts and plays in the near future. We are also in the process of building our own wine-tasting room that will be available in Spring 2015.

What makes our place standout from the others is that we are located in the mountains, besides a cold mountain stream and has some of the best trout fishing in the NC foothills. The Roaring River flows down from Stone Mountain State Park, just two miles from our location. The stream flows steadily year-round, and is well stocked. There are three varieties of trout: rainbow, brown, and brook trouts. There are also small-mouth bass and other fish. The fishing is private and we have a mile and a half of riverbanks. We are in the center of the NC Wine Country in the Yadkin Valley Wine Appellation. We are making our own wine and will be ready to offer them to the public when our wine-tasting room is completed (Fall 2015). At that time our business model for the vineyards will be completed and we will have one of the most beautiful vineyards around, with many on-site attractions. That in itself makes us very unique.

… in your backyard, yet a world away from it all!

The main lodge has three rental units: Aspen, Birch and Cedar.

Aspen (437203)/ Birch (437950) are 3-room suites located on the first floor of the main lodge. Each suite has a bedroom with a Queen size bed with a small office area, 1 bathroom, a large closet, and an open area with a kitchen, dinette area, and living room. The kitchen has standard size SS appliances and the necessary equipment to make meal preparation a cinch even for the gourmet cooks among us!

The rustic décor is elegant and sure to please. All units come with WIFI, Premium TV Channels, and an outdoor grill.

The covered patio has a bistro dining set, an outdoor settee, and private fire-pit.

Imagine yourself having a candlelight diner or sipping a glass of wine while admiring the beautiful mountain vistas and listening to the sounds of the Roaring River as it flows by just a few feet away from you. Yes, it is that close! It just doesn’t get better than that!

The amenities are so numerous that this vineyard is becoming a destination in and of itself. There is a private beach, a swim hole, private fishing on the river and in the ponds. There is also bow-hunting in season. There are a number of lawn games such as Bocce Ball, Corn Hole Toss, Horseshoe Pits, and Croquet. Another fun activity is to picnic amongst the grapevines, or for that matter, anywhere on the 50-acre vineyard estate.

Note: The Cedar Unit – is a two-story unit that is currently occupied for a long-term period.

There are many music festivals in the area: Merle Fest takes place the 3rd week in April, wine festivals also abound in the region many taking place in May. Winery offer music and food events. We have two wineries within a few miles: McRitchie Winery & Ciderworks, and Jones Von Drehle Winery, and upon construction completion of our very own wine tasting room due to open during Summer of 2015. There are a number of historical sites in the area as well as fishing, canoeing, hiking, biking.
