Overlook South Haven Harbor steps from South Beach and Downtown

Our home overlooks the Black River steps away from downtown South Haven and a 7 minute stroll along the Riverwalk to South Beach and the South Haven Lighthouse.
The first level of our home is barrier-free accessible and beach cottage decorated with all of the amenities you need for a relaxing beach holiday with the convenience of South Haven’s shops and restaurants literally around the corner.

We offer barrier-free access to:

2 bedrooms, 1 queen and 1 with twin beds, and 1 full bath
Full kitchen with all necessary preparation utensils, dinnerware and outdoor grill
All linens and towels are provided. Just bring your favorite beach towel!
Free WiFi, Cable TV and DVD Player
Large, screened front porch for dining, relaxing and viewing the boats in South Haven’s active harbor
Off-Street parking.
We’re ideally suited for a small family of 4 or 4 adults willing to share.

South Haven becomes a winter wonderland typically beginning over the holiday season. Cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating and sledding are some of the nearby activities, particularly during Ice Breaker Fest in February!

In season, generally from Memorial to Labor Day weekends, we prefer weekly rentals, beginning Friday or Saturday, at 15% off of our daily rate for 7 days or more.
Daily rates of (2 day minimum) may be available on request. Please call for availability if the calendar is uncooperative:).
Off season, generally September 15 - May 15, rates are discounted 30-50%.
Check in is after 3:00pm and check out is by 11:00am.
All fees (cleaning, etc.) are included in the weekly rate.
***VRBO may add a booking fee to your reservation.

Wonderful cozy property
100/10 would recommend. It was a perfect short getaway for this city couple. It was cozy, comfortable and perfect. It was extremely peaceful and minutes away from the beach. Would definitely book again.

Relaxing stay on a quiet street with beautiful views.
Clean and bright first floor property at the end of a quiet street. The queen bed is very comfy! Kitchen is stocked with the essentials for cooking meals. The screened in porch has really great views of the marina. Downtown is a few blocks away, make sure to make reservations for dinner -we almost didn't get in! The south beach is a short walk or has some public parking available, my 5 year old had no trouble walking wherever we went and he slept great! We had a great stay and will definitely be back. The owners were great with response times when we booked and answered any questions we had, they made our stay very easy.

Perfect location
Had a wonderful couple of days in South Haven celebrating my sister’s birthday. Beautiful house with pristine yard. The location was near shop’s & lighthouse…easy & pretty walk! We’ll definitely be back to visit!

Owners Sally and John have lived or vacationed in Southwest Michigan for over 50 years. Crimson Sun became our permanent home in 2012, though we purchased the property in 2001, since John retired from a lifelong career with a global management and technology services company. Sally is an artist who enjoys depicting local scenes and activity wherever they happen to be in the world. Her creativity is fascinating and on display in our home and wherever else we have lived.
We enjoy travel having lived in Illinois, North Carolina, Washington state, Melbourne Australia and southwest Michigan. In addition, we've been fortunate to have visited every State in the USA, Canada, Mexico, much of Europe (Italy has been a favourite destination), the UK, Iceland, Ethiopia, Turkey, Greece, Nepal, India, most of Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysian Borneo. We love the outdoors, natural flora and fauna including a passion for our natural environment. We completely rebuilt our home re-using or recycling everything possible dumpster-free. And, we're currently working to further improve our energy consumption and return our surrounding landscape to an indigenous and maintenance-free environment.

We enjoy meeting people from all walks of life, love to discuss any of our interests and most importantly, truly enjoy hearing the life stories of others. At the same time, we fully respect your desire to be "on holiday" with a break from other people. So, our goal is to help you achieve whatever you intend by visiting our part of the world.
