Absolutely fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

We called this our jungle house before our stay and weren’t disappointed! The main living area and breezeways between bedrooms were completely open to the very private surrounding jungle. We saw Howler monkeys and spider monkeys right on the property from the house. Also seen from the house were a huge iguana, anole lizards, bats and beautiful Scarlet Macaws. Every night we ate by candlelight (citronella that we brought with us) and left the electric lights on by the stairs. After our always fantastic dinner, we had at least three species of frog on the stairs who came for their bug dinners. The night air is filled with the sounds of the jungle. I missed every noise but the cicadas upon our return home.

We shelled out the extra $40/day for Pablo to cook three daily meals for us. You’d be crazy not to do this! He is fantastic!

Pascal (concierge) came by daily to check on us and was very helpful with reservations. He even shopped for us on day one!

Carlos (caretaker) brightened every day with a very friendly “Pura Vida”! He kept the pool very clean and was always friendly and helpful.

I never got the maid’s name, but every day she kept the house very clean and nice.

The pool is small, but cool and very refreshing after daily activities.

I would stay here again in a heartbeat! We all loved it.

Of note: the house is raised 5 feet off the ground and there is nothing to keep little ones from falling off the edge. Our 4 year old fell once, learned his lesson (he was fine) and didn’t do it again. For this reason, I would not recommend this house for babies and toddlers.

The bedrooms and bathrooms are all enclosed and private, no worries there.

We felt very safe here and had a wonderful stay! We hope you do too!

Deluxe Oso beach house

  • 5 of 5

Refreshing, cold and homemade juice beverages were shared upon our arrival. Pablo, our chef, created not only delicious food, but it was beautifully presented as well. We enjoyed bird and monkey watching, beach walks and the zip line tour. Pascal is very helpful. Be sure it have What's App to communicate in CR.

Casa Atrevida is impressive!!

  • 5 of 5

Impressive house, setting and overall experience; would recommend it to anyone who enjoys outdoors and has an adventure loving spirit. The fact that the structure is entirely made out of bambu a truly organic material makes this house very unique and sustainable. The chef Pablo was talented and made our stay very enjoyable. Bedrooms clean and well decorated: simple and truly tropical. I would stay here again anytime!!

An amazing experience!

  • 4 of 5

Overall, this was a wonderful, unforgettable trip! The house is beautiful and well-maintained, but could use a little upkeep (some holes in the screens to let bigs in :)). Carlos is so nice, and was there if we needed anything. If you have never heard a Howler Monkey, beware! They sound terrifying at 5 am :). You get used to it though, and it is part of the authentic Costa Rica experience (plus it got us up to watch the sunrise everyday). The highlight of our stay, besides the beauty of Costa Rica and the people, was definitely the chef, Pablo. His dishes were amazing! He is a respectable and talented young man. Fresh juices, fresh fish, guacamole, and his pizza was to die for! We had a vegetarian with us, and he made sure to tailor the dishes to her needs. Keep in mind you will need to go shopping and provide the food you discuss with Pablo. We weren't aware of this, and assumed we would be provided a bill for the food at the end of the trip, so there was a little confusion, but we ended up having a great time shopping at the local grocery store. You must try the ice cream! There is so much to do in the area. One week was not long enough! I would suggest the Chocolate Tour, hike to King Louie waterfall (however it drys up in mid-February), and the tree climb for sure! We rented a car and were so happy we did. We explored different beaches, restaurants and had a blast on our own schedule. The roads are full of potholes, so a 4- wheel drive car is definitely recommended (and full coverage insurance, just in case). You can get by without knowing Spanish, but I would highly recommend touching up on basics. Pablo did not speak English, but we were able to communicate with him with our Spanish. We enjoyed the resident dog, Gaia. He was so sweet! My only complaint was that the property manager (not Carlos) was hard to communicate with. There was a language barrier, which was frustrating at first, but we were able to get through itamd still enjoyed ourselves. Thank you Franck for opening your home up to us. Pura Vida!

What a relaxing , comfortable place for a Lg. Group.

  • 5 of 5

We cann't say enough about this stunning house. The kindness of the people who worked there, how wonderful the food by chef Luis , the extra care of all, and of course the great care of Pascal to help with all communication , to plan outings for all our guest. We are already talking of our next trip back. And let's face it monkeys, birds of all kinds, and of course frogs, surrounded by breathtaking flowers, ya can not beat it!
