A Great Place for a Break
This is a beautiful lakefront property nestled among the pine trees. It feels incredibly private and remote and yet you're within easy access to major shopping centres for supplies.

Simply Wonderful
We’re an active retired professional couple who look for both peace, privacy, and serenity mixed with physical activity when on vacation. The property allowed both of that, and more. The cottage was clean, quiet, efficiently laid out, and well stocked with almost anything that one can possibly require. We had the pleasure of meeting the property keepers, and their dog Duke and grandson Chase - what delightful people. We spent many hours on the lake with the supplied canoe and our own kayak, and cycled from in the cottage with our trail bikes. One day we drove to Bridgewater (30 minute drive) and cycled 30 km on their Centennial Trail. Overall we were very pleased, and only have positive comments about our experience.

Nature at it's best
This is a beautiful log home that is fairly isolated and exactly what we wanted. If you want some place with manicured lawns and fancy gardens, don't stay here. The internet is free and other than streaming music, I would have no need for internet on vacation. We were there to enjoy one anothers company and relax in a peaceful setting. Everything you need is there. There was only one top sheet, which I prefer, but not everyone uses them. The duvet covers were clean and obviously washed between stays. The housekeeper Nicki was great and brought a duvet cover over to use as a top sheet on the other bed. I should have thought of that because there were extras in the room. The kitchen is well stocked and has everything you need. There is no microwave but we managed quite well without one. The barbeque is charcoal and we actually loved it. There were enough coals provided that we were able to have two barbeques. If you know nothing about them, you may want to google it. You need to start the coals about an hour before you plan to cook. The taste of food on a coal barbeque is amazing. I'm happy to have my propane at home but I remember when we all used coal and it was a nice change. We didn't use the firepit but there was lots of wood for a nice fire. Lots of wildlife around and I was amazed by the hummingbirds who obviously loved the flowers planted around the property. We saw a little bunny a couple of times and even a little mouse. Mice aren't just pests, they live in the outdoors and none were in the cabin. Sitting on the deck hearing the loons and birds was fantastic. We didn't get out in the canoe but did go swimming a couple of times. There is a lot of grass in the water but removing it isn't good for wildlife and it's forbidden in some, if not all, lakes in Nova Scotia. If you walk over to the left where you see a break in the grass, you'll be able to get in. Some people would prefer water shoes, we had no problem without them. Overall we loved ! It may not be for everyone but if you do your research you'll end up in a place that suits your needs and wants.

Overall the property was excellent. Pleasantcaretaker.
A terrible unusable BBQ. Living room fan and light on same switch- not good. One of the cords on the fan does not work. I fixed the sliding screen door for you. Had to leave a day early because of the unbearable heat. Wish we had fans available. A microwave would be nice so not necessary to use stove. What a lovely building! A great spot for a seculded vacation. You could consider a small cooking pot. Long way to a store so it would have been nice to know and we could had brought fans, a small BBQ that works and a small pot etc. Thanks for the use or the property. My letting you know about the shortcomings are not complaints as much as for your information. Too bad the heat forced us to leave early but that's nature at work. Overall worth the money for sure.

The Pines Cottage
The property was as advertised. Super clean and comfortable. A wonderful place, close enough to amenities, but also private enough for a quiet getaway.
