Stays for 7 nights or more will be discounted at 10%. We are accepting reservations starting April 2024.

The cabin is perched on the side of Hatcher Mtn about one mile from Wears Valley Rd on a paved county road. From the windows, you face Cove Mountain in Wears Valley and the Smoky Mountains. Enjoy the privacy of our place. Currently , there is only one cabin to the left of our cabin. To the right, there will be 5 others. They are just starting to build after the fire on March 30, 2022 that burned Cherie’s Chalet and many others.
It is located close to the Smoky Mountains National Park, Pigeon Forge(9 miles), and Gatlinburg(18 miles). There are 3 bedrooms, one in the loft, one on the main level, and one in the basement. The loft and main level each have a queen sized bed. The basement bedroom has a double queen bunk bed and a sofa sleeper in the large game room. Each level has a full bathroom. Also in the loft is an office equipped with a desk and bean bag chairs. A washer and dryer is located on the main level with a half bath. The living and dining area on the main level allows you to enjoy the awesome view through an entire wall of windows. If you get tired of the view, the living area has comfortable seating to enjoy the gas fireplace, reading, or the flat screen TV equipped with high speed internet. Besides a bedroom and bathroom, the downstairs level includes a pool table and TV. There are decks on either side of the house to enjoy the views, relax in the hot tub, eat your meals on the outdoor table, or cook on the gas grill. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal for your family and friends. There is ample parking for 3-5 cars or a few cars and a boat or a small trailer.

Peaceful Paradise
Spent spring break at Cherie’s chalet and it didn’t disappoint! We’ve stayed at many VRBO homes, but I have to say that Cherie’s was exceptional. So glad they rebuilt after a devastating fire. The most well furnished kitchen we’ve had - even down to leftover containers! The views are unbelievable… the quiet - well needed… and the peaceful setting - unmatched. We were so bummed we had to leave early to drive to Texas - but SO WORTH being able to see our newest grandbaby be born. Thanks Cherie for allowing us to stay! God bless y’all!!! Beautiful cabin for ideal getaway
The cabin was spacious, clean and included all of the small touches that make rentals great (laundry detergent, soap, basic kitchen supplies). The host was communicative and provided great advice about where to hike. We got a flat tire in the small town near the cabin and met pretty much the nicest people on earth who offered to help in so many different ways. It was as if their own tire was flat. Lots of progressive touches in the town - food truck park and brewery were both great. Highly recommend this cabin if your focus is hiking with a day or two spent in gatlinburg.

Amazing views
We enjoyed a week in this beautiful cabin with the whole family. Kids loved the hot tub and we enjoyed cooking most nights while enjoying the two porches with spectacular views. The home felt private and secluded but a short drive to all the action. We would love to stay here again in the near future. The homeowners were quick with questions and even come out on a Sunday to adjust the hot tub. Thank you for a wonderful stay and memories made.

Mountain getaway
My husband and I stayed here for my birthday weekend. It's such a cute little cabin! Close enough to town and the mountains to explore, but still secluded. Very clean and the hot tub was definitely a plus after a long day of hiking!

About the host

We both grew up in TN and met in college at UT Knoxville. Growing up my family spent a lot of time in the Smokies. As a young adult driving through the area with my family, I would wonder what it would be like to own a rental home here. In 2012 we purchased Cherie's Chalet, added the dining area, and then put it on the rental market with the plan to move there when my husband retired in a few years. In 2015 we decided to look for another rental home and in the process found a home to live in. So, after living in MO for 22 yrs(my how time flies!), we retired in the area in the summer of 2015.
We have used VRBO for some of our vacations for about 20 years. It has always been a pleasurable experience. With all the improvements in VRBO over the years , it is even easier to find and reserve the perfect vacation home. And now, we are excited about being able to offer our home to others through VRBO.

Why they chose this property

We are not in a development. The cabin is on a county road with an amazing view of Cove Mountain in Wears Valley. It is located close to the Smoky Mountain National Park, Pigeon Forge, and Townsend, but is a place where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful life.

What makes this property unique

There is a whole wall of windows at one end of the cabin that allows us to look down at Wears Valley, but also look out on some of the Smoky Mountains as well. It so peaceful to relax on the decks while watching the birds fly around.
